  • Let's Dress Up and Pretend to Be...

    Funded Apr 7, 2022

Thank you again for your generosity to my preKindergarten class. The students and I are so grateful for your donations. They have been playing with the Drew's-up clothes we received through this Donors Choose project.

They have used the dress-up clothes to pretend they are different kinds of community helpers like police officers and firemen. These outfits have also come in handy on Halloween when families can't afford costumes. I personally live when they wear the dress-up clothes that are like grandma and grandpa clothes.”

  • Building Big with STEM

    Funded Oct 16, 2021

Thank you again for your generous donations to my classroom's block center. The students and I are definitely grateful to everyone who helped promote their learning through play.

The big blocks that your donations provided have been a big hit. The students love building buildings that are almost as big as them. They also like that they can build things that they can walk or sit on. This can sometimes make me nervous but not as nervous as when they try to climb on them.

These blocks are so sturdy I know that year after year my students will continue to build and learn with them. So thank you again for such a great toy.”

  • Start Loving Books on Day 1

    Funded Jul 20, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donations. I can’t wait to get the books your generosity is providing my class.

It was very stressful knowing that I had to start the school year off without all of the resources the class needs but you have elevated that stress.”

  • A Changing Table for 3K

    Funded Oct 23, 2021

Thank you so much again for your generous donations. It has been so much easier changing the students pull-ups with the changing table your donations provided.

This year I had 11 students wearing diapers or pull ups. I can't imagine having to bend down to change them all. The table made it changing time so much easier. Now the students can just go up the stairs to the top of the table and when they have been changed they are able to climb down. This has saved my paraprofessional and my back. This table will be used in my class for years and years and my gratitude will last even longer.”

  • Dollhouse Fun

    Funded Aug 12, 2021

Thank you so much for the donations for the dollhouse and dollhouse toys your donations have provided to my class. It is amazing that others have helped provide materials for my students to learn and play with.

The multi-cultural dolls are great! They have a white, Spanish, Asian and African dolls. This way students all have dolls that look like their family when playing. I also love the furniture. We received furniture for the bathroom, living room, kitchen, and bedrooms. The students think it is funny that their is a toilet for the dollhouse bathroom. My students will be able to enjoy these materials for years and years.”

  • Welcome to Our Pretend Store

    Funded Apr 7, 2021

Thank you again for your generous donations to our classroom. The classroom store your donations purchased for my classroom is a hit. The kids had so much fun playing in the different places we turned it into. It was a grocery store, a baby day care, and a doctors office. Their favorite thing I used it for is to create an ice-cream parlor. I shared some pictures of them pretending to work in an ice-cream shop.

This piece of furniture has so many possibilities. I can't wait to see what else my students can learn and explore while using it. Maybe we can create an apple orchard or a pumpkin patch this fall. Thank you again for getting this for my class.”

  • Cooking Up Fun and Learning

    Funded Dec 2, 2020

The materials that your donations provided have been a hit with my students. I have introduced the pretend food to my students and they have been having so much fun pretending to cook, serve and eat the pretend food. the toy food gives them the most joy but drives me crazy is the large fish in the protein basket. It is a whole fish and they think it is funny to chase each other around the room pretending the fish is chasing them.

These toys will be used in my classroom for years and years and our gratitude will last even longer. Thank you again.”

  • Counting on Christmas

    Funded Dec 1, 2021

Thank you so much for your support of my students and their learning. I am so very grateful to others who understand the importance of providing every child the resources they need to learn and succeed.

For the Christmas holiday I will be giving each of my children a copy of this book to keep. It is so important for children to have personal libraries at home.”

  • LEGO People to Learn and Play with

    Funded Nov 15, 2021

The LEGOs and LEGO people that your generous donations provided started to arrive this week and my students are already using them to create amazing things. When I opened the box s one of my students was so happy she asked "Are those for me?" I explained to her that they are for all of us but she can be pay with them whenever she is in school.

I am looking forward to introducing more of the LEGO sets to them throughout the year. Since my school is a STEM school LEGOs are a huge part of introducing STEM education to PreK students and you provided a great resource to my classroom that will be used for years and years and I am so grateful for that.”

  • Fine Motor Journals

    Funded Oct 23, 2020

Thank you again for the materials your donations provided for my Prekindergarten class. They have been putting all of the pencils, tape, staples and other writing tools to good use in our writing center when the students are working in their fine motor journals. Every time I place some of the new materials in the center the kids get really excited and it helps motivate them to go to the writing center.

Right now my students are working on building the muscles in their hands by using the tape dispenser and adding stickers in the book. Then they will start practicing drawing different types of lines like curvy and slanted lines. By the end of the year the students will be writing letters and hopefully their names. Your generosity makes all of this learning possible.”
