Cozy Corner Needed!
Funded Aug 31, 2017Thank you so much for donating to my Cozy Corner project! The children and their parents have loved having cozy areas in the room where they can read and enjoy learning together. The cozy reading areas have been a great addition to my Kindergarten class! The students often request to go to the Cozy Corner to read during reading workshop. They also ask anybody who walks into the room to read with them in the cozy corner. I love hearing them ask other teachers, assistant teachers and even the principal to read a book with them! The excitement they have for reading is amazing!
With the ever shrinking school budgets, there is no money to buy the classrooms many of the supplies they need. It is donors like you that make my dreams for the classroom come true! Thank you so much for your generosity! My Kindergarten students thank you too!”

Funded Feb 22, 2017I'd like to say thank you for your generous donation to my classroom. The books that you donated have helped my students every single day. Everyday, during reading workshop I hear students saying, "Ms. Sioss did you know (insert nonfiction fact here)?" about 20 times! They love reading the nonfiction books! The students take the books home to read at home with their families. There has been a lot of positive feedback from the parents. They love reading the books with their children! We have used the books to learn facts about nonfiction topics, research a topic that we want to know more about and use the diagrams and other nonfiction text features to help write about a topic.
City schools everywhere are facing budget issues. Being a new school we don't have many of the resources we need right now. Without the generosity of donors like you, we wouldn't have high quality books for the students to read. Thanks again for your donation!”

Funded Jan 24, 2017I'd like to say thank you for your generous donation to my classroom. The books that you donated have helped my students every single day. The students also take the books home to read at home with their families. There has been a lot of positive feedback from the parents. They love reading the books with their children! We have used the books to read about our characters and talk with our fellow classmates about the characters. It has helped children become better readers by reading about the same characters as their reading group. They have helped each other and coached each other during reading time.

Marvelous Math Manipulatives
Funded Nov 21, 2016I'd like to say thank you for your generous donation to my classroom. The math manipulatives have helped my students everyday! The students use them during independent work time during math and during learning time with their parents. The parents have loved seeing the tools we use in the classroom to help their children at school. The math manipulatives have helped make math a fun and engaging learning time. This is so important because math is getting so much harder and the students are expected to know a lot. Without engaging, hands on activities the students wouldn't be as engaged in what they need to know.
Schools everywhere are facing budget issues. Being a new school we need so many resources that math manipulatives are not a priority. Without your donation, we wouldn't have these much needed resources in the classroom. Thanks again!”

Funded Mar 7, 2016I cannot say thank you enough for your generous donation to my classroom! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! The color printer that we received is being used every day with the children. We are using the printer to print out writing pieces that children complete on the computer, print out book that the children can take home and read. The children love printing! They continue to find new uses that I had never thought to use it for. One of my students asked if he could print out a book that he was reading online so he could take it home to practice reading. This student doesn't have access to a computer or tablet at home. I loved that that he came up with this idea all on his own! The printer has made a HUGE impact in my classroom!
Each year, our schools budget is shrinking and we are unable to buy classroom necessities let alone extras like iPads, computers and printers. Without generous donations from donors like you, we would not be able to have technology in our classrooms!
Thanks again for your donation!”

Help Us Spend and Save!
Funded Dec 22, 2015Words cannot begin to express my gratitude for your thoughtful donation to my classroom. The iPad that we received is being used every day with the children. We are using the iPad for math games, reading online books, letter games, and during phonics instruction. The children love working on the iPad! They continue to find new uses that I had never thought to use it for. One of my young students asked if he could use the iPad to research an animal he wanted to write about. He found video clips and was so excited and engaged in writing! I cannot believe how engaged my young students are during computer time. The iPad has made a HUGE impact in my classroom!

My Little Rugrats Need A Rug!
Funded Apr 1, 2014I was so excited when my request was funded. Equally excited to share the new rug with the children. We opened it that first day to many ooohs and aaahhhs from the children. Of course, they all had to try out the new rug and choose the letter or number they wanted to sit on! From that first day on, we have used the rug everyday and multiples times each day. I have observed many children choosing the rug as a cozy place to sit during reading time with their partner and they have asked if they can do math or writing on the cozy rug. My students decided to call it the cozy rug. Often times I hear, "Can I sit on the cozy rug during writing?" or "Don't make a mess on our cozy rug!" or "Do you like our new cozy rug?" It is so nice to see them appreciate the rug and with that appreciation they are really taking care of it. They tell kids to be careful when they are writing near it and I see kids picking up papers that have accumulated on the rug during the day.
Thanks again for your donation to my students. It is always exciting to get new classroom items! When you see this excitement through the lens of a child that rarely sees new things, you can appreciate it even more. They couldn't stop commenting on how beautiful the new rug was! This new rug will be used for years to come and we couldn't be more grateful for your donation to our classroom!”
