  • The Calming Space: Materials For Cooling Down

    Funded Dec 30, 2021

This project has been an ongoing success for our classroom. Our calming area has grown to four large bean bag chairs with Mr. Chili stuffies, a color changing light with ocean sounds, an aquarium, a carpet, additional lighting and books. We also have a basket with many types of fidgets for children to explore.

Not only has this space been beneficial to my students, it's also been used by students from other rooms who have needed to visit and calm down so that they could begin to regulate their behavior and return to class.

Additionally, each afternoon, four students visit after they are finished with their instruction to sit for a minute and relax.

Thank you for your support and for helping my kids!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Ware

  • Math Warm-Ups

    Funded Aug 17, 2024

Sending you a big thank you for supporting my classroom and for making our daily math warm-up workbooks possible. There are so many things I like to do for my students each year, and this is one of them. These will be used every day this year. My students really like them. They present a daily math skill that's on their level that we can use at the beginning of class to get them ready for the day.

Teaching special needs students can be tricky at times, because many lack the confidence to complete work. These workbooks are perfect because they start out class with success and are ready to learn.

Please know that you are very appreciated. I just couldn't do it all without Donorschoose and generous people like you.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Ware

  • Insects And Robots

    Funded Jul 19, 2024

We're bugg'n out! All I can say is just, Wow! Thank you!

A big thank you from my kiddos for all your support towards our classroom. From the books to the little insect robots, they're already interested in learning more. That's all because of you and your generosity. My plan is to add even more insect books to our collection. You have us off to a great start!

My kids are wonderful. they love learning and exploring. your genrous gift has brought a little fun and interest into my room. Please know that I just couldn't do it without you.”

  • Saltwater Buddies: Clownfish and Sea Anemone

    Funded May 8, 2024

This project has been a dream come true for me. I wanted to make it possible for my students to set up and maintain a saltwater environment with clownfish and an anemone. We are well on our way because of your help. Thank you so much for thinking of my kiddos. They just don't get the chance to see anything saltwater related here in West Virginia. We don't have a nearby public aquarium. They are enthralled on a daily basis with the fish. Soon, we will add the anemone and see if the clownfish adopt it. Again,

Thank you for everything you have done. I just couldn't have done it without you!”

  • Creep Crawlies On Display!

    Funded May 8, 2024

We are off to an amazing insect start! Not only were my students fascinated by the insects and the thought of displaying them, it created insect fever! My students were bringing me dead insects from the playground and from home! I even had a parent write a note and tell me that their child wanted to go bug hunting. I had to laugh.

So far, students have learned that there are so many different kinds of insects in the world... outside of our mountains. We have several already displayed on our classroom wall.

Our next phase is to come back to school in August with more insects to spread and mount and learn about. Thank you for allowing this to happen and for helping encouraging exploring and learning in my kiddos.”

  • Growing With Hydroponics

    Funded May 8, 2024

Sending a huge thank you your way! The kids are so excited to start our vegetable and herb pods for our new hydroponic garden. When they opened it, they wanted to start them all, but with the end of the school year, we decided to wait till open house in August to plant. One of the boxes we received were all the ingredients for a salsa garden, so they can't wait to see peppers and tomatoes.

I just wanted to let you know that without donors like you, I couldn't do all the things in my classroom that I'm able to do and have my students experience. Thank you so much for your support. You are truly valued!”

  • Standing Up To learn

    Funded Dec 7, 2023

Thank you again for making this project possible! This project has been a hit in my classroom. Students are using them every day. What's funny it that I had to set some boundaries so that there was no fighting over the opportunity to stand at them during class. There is never a class where they are empty. All the students who use them share that it's a relief from sitting in their other classes on a hard chair. I think I may need to add a couple more standing desks to my room.

Please know that I couldn't have done this without your help and thank you for enriching the classroom experience for my kiddos. Have a wonderful day!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Ware

My students come from a geographically isolated area in West Virginia. They have few after school activities, and there are no art programs other than one a quarter. Truly, if a child is not into sports, then there isn't anything for them.
