My students live in close-knit neighborhoods and remote farms in our small, rural lakeside town in East Tennessee. In their free time, these kids work part-time jobs, take care of younger siblings, play sports (a big focus in our town), and volunteer and relax with faith-based groups. These kids love football and skateboarding, huntin', fishin', four-wheelin' and muddin', playing video games, and driving to the "big city" to go shopping and see movies. They're funny and insightful, unpredictable and contrary, capable and respectful--in short, they are an all-around good group of teens!
