  • Help Fund Our Technology STEM Classroom!

    Funded Nov 21, 2017

Thank you so much for your support. My classroom is full of actively engaged students who love building and creating. They are able to use their headphones on their chromebooks while they are coding and I watch them build and grow with different STEM activities. They love making buildings, cranes, and vehicles. I have seen them grow as learners and as group members. By doing the STEM activities I have seen them learn how to negotiate and listen to others ideas. Not everything has come easy but they have also learned how you can learn from your mistakes and grow.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Kirby

  • Make Learning Fun!

    Funded Oct 3, 2016

Thank you so much to everybody who helped fund this project for my students. We use many of the resources on a daily basis. The students use many of them during Reading or Math centers. It helps them have a fun time, while also learning.

When we first got the boxes of materials my students were so excited! They wanted to see what were in the boxes and who they were from. When I opened the box and added them to our center materials shelf, they couldn't wait to use them! The students love to create words with the Lego's, or sound out words to help them make the word puzzles.

These materials allow the students to have a choice in their own learning, while still having fun. I see on their faces everyday an excitement to learn and engage in their own learning! Thank you so much.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Kirby

These materials will be used in small group centers to help enrich the students learning in class. For example, students can use the legos to spell sight words or to count in math. They can use the learning puzzles when learning about time, addition, or place value. One of the things I hate most is hearing a student tell me that learning is boring. These games and interactive materials will be used to help make learning fun. Learning doesn't always have to be sitting at a table and working on a worksheet. Learning can be by creating, interacting, and having fun. These manipulatives will be used on a daily basis even as the concepts change because they can be adapted to many different lessons.
