  • Whiteboard Learning Made Fun

    Funded Sep 30, 2024

Our class was so excited when the box with the whiteboard easel arrived. The class couldn't wait for me to put it together. The class has also enjoyed some of the crafts, projects, and activities purchased using the Teachers Pay Teachers gift card.

We have been using a whiteboard easel since the beginning of the year, but the last one was very hard to move from place to place and when I moved the new whiteboard easel with ease, the class was very happy, they were cheering. We have been able to use the whiteboard easel for our chart paper when creating class posters, the magnetic part of the board to display cards and smaller posters we create for each letter of the alphabet and different ways to represent numbers. We use this easel almost everyday during our learning and it has been such a treasure to have!

Thank you very much for your donations to our class project. We are completely blown away by your generosity and will continue to use these materials daily.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hills

  • Off to a Great Start!

    Funded Aug 1, 2023

Thank you very much for supporting my students in my classroom this year! We are so lucky to have such caring and thoughtful people to help us succeed.

We received headphones to use as replacements in case someone forgets their set or can have one provided from home. We have new whiteboard markers to use to build words, write numbers and equations. We also received a class set of chair pockets to store our books, journals and papers. We have used the chair pockets since the start of the school year and they've been extremely helpful keeping our materials organized!

    Thank you for your support!”

    Mrs. Hills

  • Creating Authors and Illustrators

    Funded Apr 25, 2023

Thank you very much for supporting my class with donations to help supply my class with a binding machine and the CombBind Spines for the binding machine. We are already putting our new binding machine to good use. Our class has been coming up with great ideas for its use.

We are using the Teachers Pay Teachers gift card to find some great activities to help us become life-long learners. The life cycle of a plant activity was purchased through Teacher's Pay Teachers to go along with our plant unit in reading and writing class.

We are so fortunate to have donors like you to help us receive the items that are most useful to our success. Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hills

  • Refresh and Replenish

    Funded Feb 16, 2023

Thank you very much for donating to our class project to help us refresh and replenish our supplies from the beginning of the year. Everything will be great resources for us to have fun with crafts, writing, reading and math.

We used the blue paper to complete an activity about the book The Snowy Day, the markers will be helpful with word building during whole group and small group. The markers will also be great with showing our work to help solving addition and subtraction equations.

My students have enjoyed the finger spacers during writing class. Our writing has already improved since receiving the spacers. The finger spacers are one of the best tools we have received this year!

We wouldn't be able to have the resources we need without you. Thank you again for contributing to our class and we will be sure to take very good care of our materials.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hills

  • Let Our Imaginations Soar!

    Funded Dec 1, 2021

We are using the magnetic tiles, bristle blocks and tinker toys for center time activities. Each table is given a specific center to work in for the time period. The centers rotate each day, giving students the ability to create using all of the materials.

My students were excited to hear of the materials we would be receiving for our class, especially for our class center time. When we received the materials, my students couldn't stop asking about center time. They were extremely excited to use the materials and when each table is given their daily center, you can hear the joy of being able to use the magnetic tiles, bristle blocks and tinker toys.

We will continue to use these fun, useful materials. I love how they add to students' creativity and imagination during this time. Some of my students have never had the opportunity to use bristle blocks, tinker toys or magnetic tiles and now, because of your contribution they can enjoy and bring their own ideas to life.”

  • Safe & Fun Gets It Done!

    Funded Sep 9, 2021

When our class received our items, they were so excited to start using everything! We created a seat rotation for the lap desks and floor cushions so everyone has an opportunity to use our new flexible seating options in our class. Students have also enjoyed using the stools at our groups table instead of regular chairs. It adds a little flair to our classroom and makes it more comfortable and engaging for students.

The lap desks have been enjoyable during our writing time which gives the students an opportunity to sit in different areas of the classroom, instead of being at a traditional table. All of these new materials are very easy to clean/disinfect which has been great in preventing the spread of viruses. Our class has been taking very good care of our new flexible seating. We also love the bean bag chairs in our calming area.

We cannot thank you enough for adding fun learning opportunities to our classroom. We will think of you all as we continue to use each item and your generous support of my students and our classroom.”

  • Changing the Way We Work

    Funded Sep 17, 2019

My students are absolutely loving our new seating options! The comfy chair is being used frequently in our classroom library and I hope to be able to buy several others this year so we can use them in small groups. I love having the wobble seat available for any student who may need a little extra movement while working on tasks at their seats. Our pocket chart is used every day to hold our "Growing Hundred Grid". It can be moved easily if we need the bookshelves behind its current place

My students were so excited when I introduced them to our new class materials and couldn't wait for me to build them. Our classroom library has become a much more fun and comfortable sitting place where students can enjoy a good book.

Thank you very much for donating to my class project on donorschoose.org. Without your donation, we wouldn't be able to have the amazing resources to help turn our classroom into our home.”

  • Save the Trees, Let's Reuse!

    Funded Mar 22, 2019

First, I would like to thank all of the amazing people who donated to our class project. We have received all of the materials and we have started using them as soon as the binders were assembled by some awesome helpers. Our morning binders have skill in to help students with reading, writing, counting, shapes, and numbers. As soon as the binders were introduced, the class was eager to begin using the binders.

The class saw all of the boxes brought into the classroom and I went through all of the materials and the students' eyes were wide with excitement. They could not wait for the binders to be put together and begin using them. On days the binders are not used, students ask why we haven't used them and when is the next time we will use them.

My hope is to use these materials for years to come with my future classes. I'm excited to see how the morning binders will impact my future students who will have the opportunity to use them from the start of the school year, especially for those students who may struggle with writing.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hills

  • A Breath of Fresh Organization

    Funded Aug 17, 2017

First, I'd like to thank you for your donations to our class project. As soon as we received the materials, we began using them right away! We were in desperate need of new chair pockets, and our new chair pockets are amazing. They are so roomy, that I can help my students become organized with the number of pockets that are available. Many parents ask me each year how they can help their child become somewhat organized and if it helps at such a young age and I believe the younger children learn how to manage their materials, the easier it is for them as they become older. The day I pulled the new chair pockets out, my students were in awe and so excited to begin using them.

This school year, our students have Art class in our classroom instead of being able to move to the Art Room due to lack of space in our school. The Art teacher came to me the other day and asked how I felt about painting in the classroom and I was able to quickly point out our new drying rack that can be used. I know I was excited to receive the drying rack, but the Art teacher so even more excited, because she loves giving the students an opportunity to paint and was a concerned about where to place their finished pieces for drying.

Again, I can't thank you enough for your support to help my students become organized, but also to help make the adjustment of having Art class in our room more enjoyable and less stressful!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hills

  • Supply the Future

    Funded Apr 11, 2015

I cannot thank you enough for donating and helping to fully fund my project "Supply the Future".

My class was so excited about the resources we were able to receive for our classroom (although they are not allowed to use them directly), because I could then laminate some of their projects they absolutely loved working on and will be able to keep them for a long time. When the students saw me use one of the resources, they would become very excited, because they knew something new was being created for them to use in our classroom.

We have used to the laminator to help keep card games in a usable condition for the coming years, laminate fun activities the students completed and would like to keep, laminate our high frequency words and other important words that we use during the entire school year. We have been able to create card games for the students to use with the paper cutter that would have taken so much more time if I had to cut all of the cards out by individual pages.

Having this project funded helped to boost students' learning, because I could use more time planning lessons and using the materials previously created and use less time on cutting our materials for the lessons. This has been a major time saver! I cannot thank you enough for your help with funding my project!!! I will be able to use the laminator and paper cutter to help keep the materials for many years to come, thus helping our classroom become a "greener" classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hills
