  • Light it Up! Empowering Students Through Art

    Funded Mar 29, 2016

Words cannot express enough as to how thankful we are for your contribution toward the funding of this project! You have empowered my students to create through art; the materials your funding provided allowed my students to express their knowledge of scientific concepts in a creative and expressive way! We were able to kick-off the new school year with art infused learning and my students couldn't have been more excited to be engaged in the learning process. The iPad minis were a great starting point for students to collaborate and create initial designs for their light sculptures; the printer allowed us recreate the images and share in a public way. Students had to integrate the batteries, wires, and bulbs within their artistic design. Students felt a sense of accomplishment and learned so much through this project. Thank you again for your support!”

    With gratitude,

  • Edible Garden for Healthy Hearts!

    Funded Aug 12, 2016

Thank you so much for helping to make our edible garden a reality! While our kids are in the planning stages of planting, it was so much fun watching them build the garden beds and take ownership of their planting space. They are hard at work prepping seeds to germinate and are hoping to have plants that have grown enough to harvest sometime in the near future. In the meantime, they are learning what it means to have a healthy diet and the importance of fruits and vegetables embedded into their daily meal plan! We appreciate your support! :-)”

  • Active Play in the Classroom

    Funded Aug 19, 2016

We would like to extend a big "Thank You" for funding this project! You have had such a positive impact on my students as in class movement activity has increased though the use of these materials. Physical activity sites such as GoNoodle have been casted on our new television using the iPad Mini 3 and Apple TV that your contribution supported. My students have been so excited to start the new school year with these in-class movement breaks; not only has physical fitness increased, students are also more focused when getting back to classwork. They look forward to movin' and groovin' with the instructors on Kidz Bop and Zumba Kids they get to follow along with by viewing on our television set! I could never have provided that kind of experience without your support and generosity! You are appreciated!”

  • Bring It On! Keeping Healthy and Fit All Year Long!

    Funded Aug 2, 2016

Thank you so much for your contribution! My students were so excited to be introduced to a new game; we ended up staying on the yard for P.E. much longer than usual because they were so enthusiastic about playing badminton. The portable nets were a hit; we were able to set up in various areas of the yard and of course the game would not have been complete without the badminton sets! Because of your donation, my students will have multiple opportunities to play thus meeting their goal of 60 minutes of physical fitness activity a day! You are appreciated!”

  • Vena Tigers Roar! Swing Batter Batter! 2

    Funded Aug 12, 2016

Well once again, many thanks! The Target initiative has changed lives for the better! Because of the support and generosity of your organization, my students have access to equipment that will increase their levels of physical fitness and keep them engaged in a fun sport. My students are looking forward to going outside when the weather cools and participating in active play through the game of softball. They love the baseball gloves, new bat, and catcher's gear and are excited to have specialized equipment such as the pitchback screens to learn specific softball skills. Softball equipment doesn't exist as part of our regular school equipment inventory, so this project is a real treat for my 5th graders. They are so appreciative of your support!”

  • Racing Our Way to the Finish Line!

    Funded Aug 12, 2016

You have made such a difference in the lives of my students and we are so grateful for your generosity and support! Just four weeks into the new school year, my students have already begun to change habits for the better as they use the new equipment your funding provided. The pedometers were such a big hit; students had them programmed and ready to use in no time! Every day they are tracking the number of step walked and trying to out walk the previous day's record! Students are using lunch and recess opportunities to stay active, instead of sitting on a bench and using their time as a stationary social hour. Other kids are looking to see what my students have and have expressed interest in wanting to participate in walking around campus with them. My students have also asked to check out their pedometers so that they could track their evening steps and some have even involved their family members to take them on walks in the their neighborhood. Thus, families are being impacted in a positive way to also be part of the active movement experience! We are looking forward to using our count-up marathon clock in the next month and I know it will be a great hit! From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!!!”

  • A MakerSpace for Tinkering Minds

    Funded Apr 22, 2016

    Dear Donors,

Thank you for your contribution and impacting my students in such a positive way. The students' excitement was evident the moment I set out the Makey Makey, Little Bits, and Teknikio kits; their little hands were so eager to touch and that they did. The Makey Makey allowed my students to create and learn something new about technology. The Little Bits was especially fascinating for them - it was a first experience in constructing circuits and seeing the transfer of energy that made things to light up or set a device in motion. The components were interchangeable which allowed them to explore many different ways to convert and transfer energy. The Chromebook was highly utilized as students were actively engaged in coding through the online programs such as code.org. The educational aspect was huge in regards to robotics and design in developing critical thinking skills, problem-solving, and deepening my students understanding of scientific and mathematical principles. This project was educational and fun and none of this would have been possible without your support! Thanks again for making a difference and exposing my students to new experiences.”

  • Vena Tigers Roar! Swing Batter Batter!

    Funded Feb 19, 2016

Thank you so much for your contribution! Softball practice can take place more efficiently as players can work on drills in smaller groups. Now that we have proper softballs and the right mitts to allow for catching and grasping, players are learning to throw and catch with more ease. The individualized instruction has helped the kiddos to strengthen and perfect their skill of the game. The tee is working well to develop their hitting skill with accuracy, and they can now select a bat that is more fitting for their size and comfort. Their confidence has improved, and it has been wonderful to see the smiles on their faces and enthusiasm every time we go out to the field to practice! Your support brought about those smiling faces; You made a difference!”

  • Market, Market!

    Funded Jun 6, 2015

Thank you so much for your generosity and support! Because of your contribution, my students have had the opportunity to learn about financial concepts in a hands-on way. Our business unit is well underway! Students are using their knowledge of what it takes to start a business, business types, saving, and financing to kick-start their business groups. While the products and services were predetermined due to the materials purchased, students selected groups based on earnings - those with the highest "earnings" chose first. The excitement in the room fun to watch as the business groups such as "Sew Cute" and "Sculpt-It" were formed. Students had to earn their materials; product designs are now being created and tested. Students are anxiously awaiting their business grand opening to take place in May and are looking forward to business design, advertising, and creating "uniforms" with their white t-shirts. We still have lots of work ahead of us, but thank you once again for the opportunity to learn math and life concepts in such a creative way!”

  • Light It Up! A Fusion of Dance and Robotics 1.0

    Funded Oct 6, 2015

You have impacted my students in such a powerful way, and for that we are forever grateful! Because of your contribution, my students have taken their imaginations beyond the limit - they have already generated ideas and begun planning for our school's very first light show! Students are learning to program and control the Sphero balls using the iPad. Performance sketches are underway; ideas are being generated, and discussions taking place about how students are going to integrate materials such as the glow-in-the-dark glasses and paracord, and finger lights into their choreography. I love watching them create and design and only wish that you could be there to see the joy on their faces! The excitement and buzz are contagious as other children from other classes want to be part of the performance. Our show in April is sure to be a hit, but the best part of all is that this is all going to happen because of your foundation! You gave my students the opportunity to explore their creative side while integrating technology and the arts. We appreciate your support and thank you for making a difference!”
