The amount of books has steadily grown over the years but with this project I was able to put the cherry on top for books that my students truly love reading. Thank you for providing the supplies for my students we are so very grateful. Everything that you did for us has made our classroom and learning environment so much more enriching. Hands on activities have been shown to help students learn 25% faster than just using paper and pencil so we are maximizing the potential they can reach. Once again, without you and the many donors who generously gave to our project we would not be able to provide the supplies for our students to enjoy and learn new, innovative ways.”

  • Imagine, Invent, Inspire.

    Funded Jun 15, 2019

All of the provided tools have enhanced my classroom to another level compared to last year. The amount of interaction and engagement is at an all time high and simply has made the learning environment more fun for the students and for myself. The extra hands on demonstrations have given better understanding and raised the rigor that 6th graders so desperately crave and need. My class has had the highest scores in our district twice on unit exams and I know thats not by accident but by hard work dedication and proper use of resources.”

  • Tech-Tech-Technology !

    Funded Aug 15, 2019

The use of technology in the classroom is so important especially at such a young age. Their brains are like sponges so the more they are exposed to the more they hold on to and take from the learning environment. The students love the science apps they can pull up on the ipad and how we can use it as an interactive tool to increase rigor and engagement throughout our class. Some students who come from lower income homes are especially excited to use the ipad since they do not have access to technology like this at home. All 100% of my students appreciate the ipad in the classroom and cant wait to order more for the future.”

Science is used in our everyday life whether you know it or not. Some students are not aware that this is the case, but it is my job to teach them this. If they come in a classroom that has many eye catching items that also assist in the learning process they will be more inclined to think critically. For example the "Einstein street graffiti" and "inspire you poster" will be helpful in aiding in room physical environment stimulation. There is a direct correlation that the more a classroom visually stimulates a student, they will be more inclined to learn information and retain it. The "Solar system wall art" and the "periodic table inspired think word lettering" will both directly be used with our units. We have units for sixth graders to learn about space science as well as chemistry. Certain items might seem very minor to the naked eye, however all of these items can make a major difference in younger students such as sixth graders learning. When I walk in a class and I'm visually stimulated I want to go and learn willingly. I would even go as far to consider this the "fun" classroom. Anytime a student can associate learning with fun the teacher is winning half of the battle there. The second half is simply building off the initial interest of that student which these supplies will allow.
