Personal Book Jackets
Funded Nov 29, 2023When my students entered the classroom, the excitement was priceless. I saw students fully engage and using the space for our " Personal Book Jackets". Students also stated that the jackets made the room look different. They can feel comfortable storing their belongings in the jackets. My students loved that they could have their names on the back of the jacket. They feel a sense of belonging and ownership. When one of my administrators visited the class, he commented that he was so impressed with how the book jackets made the room look. He said, "It makes the room feel warm and inviting." Since each student has their own Chromebook, they also have headphones and binders. The headphones fit nicely; you don't have to cram the desk with the binders. We really appreciate helping us meet our class goal.”

Funded Jul 17, 2022Thank you, thank you, and thank you!
"This experience grew us as students, as were celebrating the holidays, we were able to decorate Christmas cookies. We were able to bond as a class and represent our student body with pride and dedication as a whole. We continue to strive for using technology to the best of our ability. We appreciate all that you have done to make this dream, idea comes true. When one of my administrators visited the class, she commented that she was so impressed with how the students were engaged and socializing during the decorating of Christmas cookies.”

Funded Aug 25, 2021Thank you so much for the wonderful items for my students. Each and every day, we use the items to enhance skills with math along with the dry erase boards and pens. This allows me to get a better idea of the learning gaps in my classroom daily. We also love to use the pencil sharpener that was graciously donated. The one we had last year broke and we were happy to see the new sharpener. In lieu of the pencils and other items, we love to use the highlighters for our reading lessons. The highlighters help us with using specific strategies such as justifying our answers in reading a paragraph.
Once, I informed my students of the items that were donated, they were very excited and grateful for the generous donations that they received that day. Most of my students are elated because most of my students never owned items such as markers, highlighters, colored paper unless they're sharing them with their siblings at home. To be able to gift them with their own supply case for their own desk is an expression that I will never forget.
In addition to the items received, we've been in school since September and since we're at the halfway mark, my students are making academic growth in math and reading. We're on the right path to making major strides in our class.”

Funded Sep 17, 2020Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom. This project has allowed me to give each a set of headphones. It is such a wonderful feeling knowing that my students had everything they needed when we returned from distant learning.
When we returned to the classroom this past March, there were many new safety procedures in place. Many of the supplies that were once shared in the classroom can no longer be shared. The supplies from this project helped me make sure that my students had all their own supplies, like pencils, pens, colored pencils, expo markers, and of course hand sanitizer.
Thank you so much for supporting my students! These materials have helped my students transition back to in person learning.”

Funded Aug 12, 2020Thank you so much for making this project possible for my fabulous fourth graders. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, I've received most of my materials at home. My students were ecstatic to know that so many people supported them and helped fund this project.
When I first saw that people had given to my project, I was overwhelmed with emotions. I felt a sense of empowerment for myself and my students. I explained to my students that people were willing to fund this project so they will have the necessary materials for our virtual classroom. Sadly, with the pandemic, I was only able to use my document camera and dry erase board. Both of the items helped me with guiding my students with skills that are needed for reading grade-level passages and also, it helps me with using manipulatives for math skills.
Speaking of math, At the beginning of the year, we always do a place value/number sense unit. When students move from 3rd to 4th grade, this is a skill that is vital as we move forward with other skills. Students recognizing a digit in one place, reading and writing multi-digit whole numbers, as well as rounding multi-digit whole numbers to any place.
Once again, we humbly appreciate your generosity to allow my students to thrive each day!”
