  • To Sublimate or Not to Sublimate

    Funded May 6, 2024

Thank you so much for replacing our sublimation printer! Our students love designing their own t-shirts, mugs, bags, backpacks, ornaments, and more just by printing using the sublimation printer and then heat pressing the design onto a sublimation blank. They really like making customized products for their friends and families. It also gives them experience with entrepreneurship and how much work goes into making a product that people might want to buy. There are so many benefits to students engaging with the making process. Thank you so much for allowing us to continue making things with sublimation!”

  • Perinneal Paper Problems II

    Funded May 6, 2024

Thank you so much for donating paper to our middle school! Lingering budget shortfalls from last year have haunted us all year long, so knowing that we have some paper coming is an epic win for us. It's quite nerve-wracking seeing the paper supply dwindle long before the end of the school year. We want to end the year on a strong note, not a whimper, so the entire staff thanks you for your generosity. Without your help, we wouldn't have been able to print out math worksheets, science labs, primary source documents, reading passages, or vocabulary work for our students. Thank you for coming to our rescue—we truly appreciate it!”

  • The Glory of the Win!

    Funded Mar 3, 2024

Thank you so much for donating paper to our middle school. All year, we've experienced extreme budget shortages for several different reasons. Without the support of benefactors like you through DonorsChoose, I'm not sure what we would've done. It's extremely challenging being a teacher to begin with, but when there isn't an adequate supply of paper, it is truly twice as hard. Although I don't use a lot of paper as a technology teacher, I know my colleagues rely on having a supply on hand for math worksheets, science labs, reading passages, primary source documents, and more. Thanks again for rescuing us (again!) from the great paper shortage of 2024!”

  • Incessantly Snacky Students!

    Funded Feb 11, 2024

Thank you so much for donating these snacks to my middle school students. They LOVE snacks and are ALWAYS hungry! A lot of them come to my room and ask me for something to eat most days. When I'm out of snacks, they get very disappointed. Honestly, I could go broke trying to buy enough snacks to keep them from being hungry. Some of the kids need a couple of granola bars just to make it through class some days, so the snacks disappear seemingly instantly. Thank you so much for caring enough about my students to help feed them. They truly appreciate everything you donated!”

  • Commanding Attention

    Funded Mar 3, 2024

Thank you so much for donating these Command strips, picture ledges, tools, and hooks. My classroom is getting a facelift this fall, and after it's freshly painted and resurfaced, I don't want to put any holes into the walls or scuff the walls. Of course, I love to have a lot of colorful, inspirational posters and learning charts on my walls, so having Command strips ready to go will be extremely helpful this fall. The tools are to replace the ones that have either broken, stopped working, or have been lost. Thank you again so much for making our classroom a beautiful place for learning.”

  • Newcomers Need Paper, Pencils, and Tissues!

    Funded Mar 31, 2024

Thank you so very much for donating these crucial supplies to our middle school ELL students! It's hard to learn how to write in English if you don't have any paper, and that has been our situation most of this school year due to our budgets getting slashed. A school that doesn't have paper and pencils for its students isn't able to give them an adequate education. English learners need to read and write to support their language learning. Listening and speaking only progress toward language mastery when reading and writing are also taught.

We also really appreciate having Kleenex for all the spring colds that are going around right now. There's nothing worse than having a runny nose and nothing to wipe it with!

Thank you again for supporting our deserving students!”

  • Green STEAM Team!

    Funded Jan 12, 2024

Thank you so much for donating these STEM kits to our STEAM Team after-school program! The students in our club love to tinker and experiment! These kits will give them a fun thing to take home and get their families involved in what we've been learning about the engineering design process and prototyping. I can't wait to see how their projects turn out! Again, thank you so much for giving us these climate change and STEAM building kits and giving our young women the chance to see themselves as climate change scientists and engineers!”

  • Lunar New Year Celebration

    Funded Jan 6, 2024

Thank you so much for donating these calligraphy pens and Lunar New Year supplies to my middle school technology and engineering students! We had a lot of fun making calligraphy posters for the Year of the Dragon. Students were able to experiment with the "old-fashioned way" of writing with pen and ink, and they experienced how much dedication it takes to learn a skill like calligraphy. They truly enjoyed the fortune cookies, too. It was a fun celebration, and it's always nice to honor our Asian students so our other students can learn to appreciate diverse cultural experiences.”

  • Litter Busters!

    Funded Feb 8, 2024

Thank you so much for donating these litter cleanup supplies to my 8th-grade leadership class! The students and I will endeavor to clean up our campus after a recent increase in the amount of litter we're seeing around campus. We will be evaluating which areas of campus are the most littered and will be focusing our cleanup attention there. The vests are a terrific way to make sure everyone knows who the leadership students are. Now that we have more grabbers, everyone in the class can be involved in picking up litter. Thanks for giving our class a service learning opportunity that we wouldn't have been able to do without these donated grabbers, bags, gloves, and vests!”

  • Leadership Wellness Campaign

    Funded Jan 16, 2024

Thank you so much for donating these sublimation t-shirts and canvas bags. My students have enjoyed designing wellness messages to imprint on these products. Learning how to design messages using Canva and then learning how to print and transfer their designs successfully helps them explore being makers and potentially might lead them to entrepreneurial careers. Additionally, their peers on campus now can see their wellness messages communicated in a very real, immediate way. It's never a bad time to remind others to take care of our physical, emotional, and mental wellness, and the shirts are a great reminder to all of us to slow down and take care of ourselves.

    Thanks again for your generosity!”

Thank you for stopping by my project page! I know there are many worthy classrooms here at DonorsChoose.org and am especially grateful for the support my students and I have and continue to receive from generous donors like you! I am blessed to have a lively 7th and 8th grade technology class where I teach computer applications, technology, and STEAM. I am putting together a makerspace where students can create unique prototypes using both low- and high-tech materials. For example, students could create a "living masterpiece" artwork, where the subject's eyes move back and forth using a Microbit or Raspberry Pi and a servo motor or an interactive monster that is coded to move in response to touch, voice, or movement prompts. I can't wait to see what my students can create with the amazing resources you've helped provide us!
