The Creative Classroom
Funded Nov 20, 2022Thank you so much for your generous donations. I was able to create a new library for my students to read books that actually engaged them. Using the decorations, I transformed my room into a calm, safe space where the children feel comfortable coming into and spending every day in here. The printer was one of the best things I could've added to my classroom, I am able to print out my students' work and put it up around the classroom. Seeing their work actually published enables a sense of belonging and pride in the classroom. Once again, I appreciate all that you have done for me and my students!”

Coding For Kids
Funded Apr 16, 2018I can not thank you enough for your generosity. The children have been so excited to use the new chrome books and have the ability to print out their work. They have been working on a book of poetry that they are creating and illustrating. Because of the printer they feel like real authors, and have taken such pride with their writing.
The mini robots have made a huge impact as well. It is so cool to see them programming the robots so that they follow a maze that they created on the floor, or using them to try to knock down bowling pins. They have also used the chrome books on another project, where they have to create the google logo for different holidays. Its amazing to see how they can create the code to make the logo jump, turn, change colors, and sorts of things.
This project has turned our end of the year into something that is exciting and engaging for the children. It's because of people like you that this is possible. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts.”

Funded Oct 23, 2017Thank you so much for your generosity. The students were so excited to receive the different supplies, they couldn't wait to open the packages. Since I teach a gifted class I am always trying to implement more science and technology into my reading lessons. Since receiving the k'nex they've been able to create different simple machines and then put that into their writing.
The bean bags were perfect for my library center, now I can barely get the kids to stop reading. They feel like the library center is a cozy, comfortable place where they can relax and read for pleasure. That is something that they're not able to do in their typical day-to-day life.
The iPad was another item we were lucky enough to receive because of you. It is so cool to see these students use different movie apps to create trailers for the books that they have read. I hope you realize what an impact you have on students who don't have these supplies at home. They cherish everything and really appreciate getting these supplies.”

STEM Scientists Need Supplies
Funded Nov 28, 2016It is really amazing to see how my students were able to receive these materials and start using them right away. We did an unit on electricity, where they learned about all the different types of circuits and how to create their own. Using the motors and batteries they received from donors choose they were able to create all sorts of different things. Some of the children made cars using recyclable materials, some made little robots that looked like insects and jumped around, and some of the students were able just to play around and try out different things.
Another item that made a huge impact with my students was the iPad. Because of where they live some of them have never had the opportunity to work with one. It was amazing to see how quickly they were able to learn how to do the different activities. By the end of the first week they had already created a little movie.
All of these items have made learning more fun for these kids. They love coming to class to see what we're going to do next. This could not have happened without your help and we are extremely grateful. Thank you!”

Loving Literacy
Funded Nov 20, 2015Thank you so much for your generous donations. The students were so excited to see all the different boxes arrive and to help me open them. They couldn't wait to help me organize the classroom with the materials we received. They devised a whole new system for a class library due to the new colorful bins we got, each color stands for a different grade level. Very clever, right?
The first thing they wanted to do when we got all the materials was the Reader's Theater. They love plays and this really helps the history come alive for them. They get really into the dramas here in the classroom. It makes the class fun and pass by so quickly.
The next thing we will be working on in writing our own poems. Now because of the ink we will be able to print them out and publish them around the school. They love to make haikus and free verse poetry. I cannot explain enough how much these materials help the classroom come alive, inspire the children, and myself. Thanks again for helping me reach my goal.”

Joining the 21st Century! Technology and Creativity Together
Funded Oct 21, 2014Thank you so much for your donation. These gifts have made a huge impact in my classroom. The children were so excited to see all the new materials that we received in the mail.
The classroom library looks amazing and welcoming because of the new rug and bean bags. It's the first place the kids want to go when we go to centers. The new books have been grabbed up and read, it's so exciting to see the kids unable to put down a book or reluctant to go to PE because they want to keep reading.
The new technology has allowed kids who have never seen an ipad to use it and learn all the different educational games that can be accessed. All the creative materials have inspired all sorts of projects and book reports. We now have a fully stocked art center that the kids can go to in order to turn regular work into something special.
Thanks again for your kindness and generosity. You are very appreciated!”

Super Students Need Supplies to Strive
Funded Oct 7, 2013Thank you so much for your donation. The kids were so excited to start receiving the supplies. Every time a new box came it was like Christmas. Our class has had so much fun with the art supplies, we've started on dioramas, character models, and heritage dolls. We have already started using the iPad to make short movies describing the books we're reading. The reading games have been useful in helping to re-enforce all the different skills we've been learning in class. It is so nice knowing that there are people out there willing to support education and that believe in us.
We are so grateful for your generosity.”

Funded Oct 29, 2012Thank you so much for your donations. These gifts enabled my students to complete many different projects. There is nothing they love more than when we finish a book and I take out the construction paper, glue, glitter, and crayons and they know they get to use their imagination to complete a book report.
The new carpet that we received changed the entire look of the room. It brightened up our library corner and now there is always a kid stretched out reading on our carpet. If you could see my room it feels like an oasis inside of an urban neighborhood. The kids have colorful projects hanging up all around, the carpet on the floor brings together the whole feel of the room.
I also wanted to thank you because of your donations we now receive weekly Time for Kids magazines. Each student gets a magazine that allows them to see the things that are going on in the world. Before we received these magazines most of the children had no idea as to what was going on in the world around them. Now we are able to keep up with and discuss the different current events”
