Funded Oct 17, 2021Your thoughtful contributions are appreciated. Some of my students only eat their meal at school due to unfortunate circumstances. Therefore, being able to provide my students with snacks during tutoring ensures they can eat and learn at the same time.
The Apple pencil allows my students to write on the Ipad Pro to capture their thought. They are intrigued with the new technology which motivates my students to want to write. I monopolize on any opportunity when my students are eager to write. With the latest technology, my students can also utilize the Apple pencil to apply what they are learning through the various educational applications. Prior to receiving the Apple pencil, my students would struggle with completing their essays because they are not motivated to complete the writing process. Now my students can edit and revise their essays utilizing the technology.
My students love technology and once they received the Apple pencil, they were ecstatic to know that they would be able to complete their writing without having to erase their papers and making it look messy.
My students and I really appreciate your generosity and we thank you!”

Maximizing Learning Through Technology
Funded Aug 12, 2021Your thoughtful contributions are appreciated. The technology allows my students an opportunity to participate in lessons because I can utilize various applications on the laptop. With the latest technology, my students can apply what they are learning through the various educational applications. Prior to receiving the iPad Pro, my students would struggle with using the outdated technology. Now my students can access the STEM technology and apply their reading and science skills to enhance what they have learned within the classroom.
My students love technology and once they received the Apple iPad Pro, they were ecstatic to know that they would be able to conduct their experiments and write up their lab reports on the same device. My students must provide evidence to support their lab reports. This device allows the students to take a screenshot of their experiment. Once they have taken the screen shot, they are able to annotate on the picture to ensure their evidence for their report is clearly seen.
My students and I really appreciate your generosity and we thank you!”

Funded Dec 1, 2020Thank you very much for your generous donation to my class. My students benefited from their teacher using an updated laptop. I was able to see my students during virtual learning. My students were able to participate in engaging lessons. I was able to utilize different short videos on the Discovery Education website to activate background knowledge. I was also able to utilize Nearpod, which is an engaging platform used to teach and review instruction. Being able to bring teaching and learning to life during these unprecedented times meant so much for my students.
The most exciting thing about the MacBook to my students was their ability to participate in the gamified test review. My students are competitive and being able to project the gamified standards review is what excites them.
Prior to receiving the laptop, it was a struggle to keep my students motivated and engaged. My camera did not work properly on the previous laptop and my students were not actively engaged in class. Once, I received the new laptop and they were able to see my face and I was able to make connections with my students, they all warmed to the new technology. Prior to the new technology, my students would not have their cameras on, so it was difficult for me to know if they were in the class paying attention. Once my students were able to see my face and I was able to utilize different forms programs to keep their attention, all my students have their cameras on and are active participants in class. Thank you for your donations. My students and I are very grateful!”

Funded May 14, 2020Thank you very much for the Cricut Maker and the Iron Press that was purchased with your donations. My students were ecstatic when I surprised them. Showing them how I was going to enhance the writing lesson with utilizing the Cricut Maker and Iron Press by bring their stories to life. My student created a cover page for the essay they published. They scanned their visuals and emailed them to me. I was able to recreate their visuals and create t-shirts with the iron- on transfers.
Another part of this assignment was to write about what they learned about themselves during the pandemic. I was really impressed by their writing and how they were able to express themselves. Some of the responses I received dealt with their views from the racial disparities to "being stuck at home" during this pandemic. What brought tears to my eyes was that many of my reluctant writers were willing to express themselves through their writing because knew that they would be able to wear something that represented them.
Since I now have new students because this project was a culminating activity with my students from last year, I will use the Cricut Maker and Iron Press as a culminating activity at the end of each marking period to keep up the momentum for writing in my class.
Once again, thank you for your generous donation. My students and I greatly appreciate your kindness.”

Funded Sep 29, 2019I would like to thank you again for your generosity. At the Ron Clark Academy professional development, I was able to gain information and strategies on how to infuse social emotional learning into everything that I do inside of the classroom. The facilitators shared how positive effective communication can change the dynamics of my classroom by implementing a few techniques to encourage, promote and improve classroom learning. One specific thing that I have began implementing was the activities to help fire up enthusiasm in the classroom. Thank you again and I am and will always be forever grateful for your donation to make this happen.”
