I teach pre-K at an Early Childhood Center, which is part of the Illinois public schools. Our Center is a very special place that tailors everything around the children ages 3-5, most of whom come from low-income homes. We have many different ethnic groups in our school, but the majority of our students are Hispanic. My classroom is a bilingual classroom, and all of my students are English Language Learners. Our current curriculum lacks the resources we need to teach our English Language Learners and, with the resources I chose for our students, we will be able to continue to develop their literacy skills.
