  • Hand on Learning Fun

    Funded Sep 21, 2022

Thank you so much for your generosity and for supporting our classroom. My students were so excited when they learned that our project got funded. They were looking forward to getting our supplies and opening the packages. Our science, math and literacy materials arrived and they couldn't wait to use them!

I enjoy making learning fun for my students and there is no better way to do it than by providing them with hands on activities. The science materials will be used throughout the school year. They will be able to see the plants and how they grow. They will also learn about how to care for the plants they planted.

Math is also a subject that should have hands on activities. The puzzles and counting bears have come in handy. My students truly enjoy learning and practicing how to count with the bears. I also received puzzles to use during Literacy. Overall. the puzzles are helping to reinforce number recognition and letter/sound recognition/correspondence.

Once again we are truly grateful for your generous donation and for supporting our classroom. We appreciate you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Cedeño

  • Be You and Express Yourself!!

    Funded Sep 7, 2022

Thank you so much for your generosity and for supporting our classroom. My students were so excited when they learned that our project got funded. They were looking forward to getting our supplies and opening the packages.

One skill that is very important for my kindergartners is holding their pencil and other materials properly. The beginner pencils and the triangular crayons are helping my students hold the writing materials using the proper grip. They are also using the color pencils and crayons after drawing their pictures during writing. My students are currently practicing their cut and paste skills, as well as their gluing skills This is one activity that they really enjoy doing. It brings a calm to the classroom.

One of the most used materials are the skin tone crayons. When school first started, students were asked to draw a self-portrait. After doing so many of them approached me asking for the skin color crayons. I did not have any then, but now they have access to them and use them frequently. My students will begin using the journals during free writing time. It will be a safe space for them to write/draw about how they are feeling or whatever else that comes to their minds.

Once again, thank you so very much for your generosity! We truly appreciate you!”

  • To See? Or Not to See? That Is the Question

    Funded Jun 19, 2022

Words cannot express how grateful I am for your support and generosity. My students are always eager to share their work and with these materials it has made it so much easier to do so. Prior to receiving these materials, my students had to copy their work onto a chart paper or on the smartboard giving them double work to do. They were also limited to using Crayola markers which faded after some time. With this project, I was able to get my students a document camera, which allows them to share their work with ease. They now place their work under the document camera and are able to share immediately what they did. The markers are now used when students are completing a problem of the day in small groups. These Mr. Sketch Markers do not fade like the Crayola brand and makes the charts last longer. Once again thank you for your support!”

  • Practice Builds Confidence

    Funded Aug 26, 2022

Thank you so much for your generosity and for supporting our classroom. When I informed my students that our project got funded, they were super excited and couldn't wait. They got to select which resources from Teacher Pay Teacher they would receive. Students now have access to various resources to help them with handwriting, phonics, phonemic awareness, number sense, counting & cardinality and so much more. They are so excited when it is center time & I introduce them to a new activity. I was able to give them play-doh mats and with this they can build letters, numbers as well as sight words. Thank you again... You are appreciated!!”

  • The "Write" Supplies

    Funded Mar 2, 2022

Thank you so much for your generosity. Many of my students are from low income households and some are currently living in shelters. Your donation has helped cut costs for families who are already struggling to make ends meet.

My students now have the writing materials they need to complete their writing projects. I am able to print and make copies with the boxes of paper. My students are able to use pencils & pencil grips that are appropriate for their age. The golf pencils are used to strengthen the muscles in the hand. The dry erase markers are alwaus beneficial because they can erase. Some are also learning how to use the materials properly. My students and I are grateful and appreciate you for supporting our classroom!”

  • A Dash of Color to Bring Our Classroom to Life

    Funded Nov 15, 2021

Thank you so much for your generosity. With this color printer, I have been able to bring our classroom to life with color posters & visuals. My scholars noticed the difference in the classroom environment once the new colored charts started being hung up. I am also able to print resources that will help reinforce what my scholars are learning. I am able to print worksheets and homework packets, as well as color pictures to add to anchor charts.

I truly appreciate your generosity! Thank you for helping me acquire the much needed printer and ink to make my classroom better & for helping me bring my classroom to life!”

  • Hands-On Fun at the Children's Museum

    Funded Jan 24, 2020

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we were unable to attend our trip. My students are learning remotely and have limited access to manipulatives they normally would have if they attended school in person. I was able to use the funding to get my students Bristle Blocks for them to play with and use at home. Bristle Blocks will allow them to participate in hands on activities at home as well as help them develop fine motor skills.

Many of my students reside in shelters or temporary housing. They also come from low income households. Knowing that they had limited access to resources it was a pleasure to see their faces light up when they received their surprise. I was able to deliver the bristle blocks to each of my students. The smile on their faces when they received them was priceless! The children and their parents were so happy and appreciative that they received the Bristle blocks. Many of the students played with them immediately upon going back inside.

I was also able to get some book that I have and will read to them while engaged in remote learning. My students love to be read to, especially some of their favorite books. I am so appreciative of your donations that allowed me to put a smile on my students faces. Although we were unable to attend the trip to the Children's Museum due to COVID 19, my students were still able to engage in hands on activities at home. Thank you so very much for helping my students.”

  • The Write Supplies

    Funded Dec 23, 2019

Thank you so very much for your very generous donations. My students and I were extremely happy when we received the packages. They couldn't wait to see what was inside.

They were happy to see the glue & colorful cardstock that will be used during art. They were even more excited to see the new pencils. My students LOVE new pencils! The pencils arrived right on time as we were running low on.

I was ecstatic when the copy paper arrived! I can finally print differentiated activities without having to worry about running out of paper.

Once again, we appreciate you & what you've done for our classroom!!”

  • Creating Connections And Building Bridges Together

    Funded Aug 30, 2016

I am eternally grateful for your generous donations. We now have our new rug for the meeting area. When my students first saw the new rug, when they walked in to the classroom, they were all smiles. They clapped and cheered. They noticed that the rug had different pictures and I explained that the words were in English and Spanish. My students love their new rug and enjoy sitting on it during different activities. This new rug gig as given my students a place to read, play, exercise, interact with each other and so much more. Once again thank you for putting a smile on my students' faces. A smile on their faces puts a smile on mine!!”

I am a Kindergarten teacher in a Title I school, in East Harlem, NY. My classroom needs new desks. In the 1st 7 days of school, 3 desks have broken nearly landing on my foot and while students were using them. New desks will provide a safer environment for my students. These desks will have a dry erase surface, which will allow learning to be more interactive. My students are also in need of new tablets. We are currently using ipads which are out dated, freeze & kick students off of the apps while they are using them. This causes frustration in my students. Tablets will be used to reinforce the literacy & math skills they will be learning throughout the school year. Your kind and generous donation will be appreciated by myself, my current students, as well as my future students each and every day!!
