  • Printing Time!

    Funded Oct 10, 2022

I am beyond grateful for supporters like yourselves! Without you, our project would not be possible. My students use these Magic Boards in various ways in the classroom. They use the letter cards to practice their letter printing independently. The cards have arrows which guide them with the correct letter formation. They also use the boards with other activities such as when they are building words with letter tiles. After building the words, they write the real or nonsense word on the Magic Board. Although they are not high tech devices these boards are truly engaging for my students!”

    Mrs. Garcia

  • Let's Write and Read!

    Funded Aug 25, 2022

Thank you very much for providing the resources to purchase a Lakeshore Teaching Cart for my classroom! Your amazing support has made organizing my instruction so much easier and thus making my teaching more engaging for my students. I am now able to use a large-size whiteboard to provide reading and wiring instruction for students. best of all, it is magnetic and I am able to use magnetic strips with lines for additional writing space. The Teaching Cart also stores my reading binders. Now my students have easier access and they are responsible for keeping them organized!

Once again, thank you for your kindness because, without supporters like you, this would not have been possible!”

  • Reading Is Fun!

    Funded Apr 19, 2022

My students were excited when they saw the box of new reading games! They are always so eager to play and the great thing is that they are learning as they do so together.

My 1st graders' favorite game was the Pop Match Beginning Phonics Game. They got so much enjoyment from pressing on the game piece and seeing a new letter pop up! They learned to be patient and wait for their turn to pop the letter each time! Learning letter names and sounds became exciting with this new game.

Thank you for bringing joyful learning to my students!”

  • Here Come the Words! Splash!

    Funded Apr 17, 2022

My students were excited when we received the box filled with the "Splash!" games! It is by far their favorite learning game in our classroom. They were eager to open the box and begin playing.

After I taught them how to play the games, we played together in small groups. Then I observed them play on their own, making sure I supported them as needed. Eventually, they had the opportunity to play in pairs during independent work time. These fun games give them practice in reading a variety of word types as they engage in fun, collaborative play.

Today was my first day working with my reading groups after the Summer Break and the first thing one of my students asked me was, " Are we going to play Splash game?" They cannot have enough of these games!

    Thank you for your support!”

  • Learning Sounds Games

    Funded Nov 10, 2021

Thank you for your support! Thanks to you my students are having fun as they learn to work with sounds!

I use the games to reinforce and practice the reading skills I have taught. I work with my students in small groups and play a few times. Then students have the opportunity to work independently or in pairs. They always look forward to playing the games!

Their favorite game is Launch & Learn. They press a button and get excited when the letter tile gets launched! Then they name the letter, say the sound, and find the picture that matches that sound. All my students are engaged in learning while having fun!

Once again, many thanks for your contribution!”

  • Time for Story Time at the Listening Center!

    Funded Jan 14, 2022

Many thanks for your support! Your contributions have brought joy to my classroom!

When I first opened the boxes of the listening center, my students were in awe. "What is that?!" they asked. One student did say, "Oh, I know what that is!" Most of my students had not used a listening center to listen to stories.

Now, it is one of their favorite centers to be at. They love to hear the stories read to them as they follow along with their book. I have one particular 2nd grader who would rather listen to a story than play a game! When given the choice, he rushes to the listening center. It is a joy to see my students engaged in reading. I see them following along with their fingers and engaging in conversations about the stories as they listen.

Once again, many thanks to you!”

  • Let's Learn to Read and Build Words!

    Funded Nov 10, 2021

I am beyond grateful for your support! Your generosity has brought lots of fun learning into my classroom! My students were super excited when they saw all the colorful boxes from Lakeshore learning. They were eager to open up every single game.

I use these learning games with small groups of students to practice the reading skills I have taught. I also use them for after-school and Saturday tutoring sessions. We play the games together a few times. Then students have the opportunity to work independently or in pairs. Every day they ask, "Are we going to play a game?!" These games encourage learning and reinforce reading skills. As a result, their reading has improved!

Once again, many thanks for your contribution!”

  • Data, Print, Copy: Printer Needed!

    Funded Nov 10, 2021

Many thanks for supporting my classroom! With the printer you helped fund, I have been able to print material to help in my reading instruction. I have printed lists of words, phrases sentences, and reading passages and put them in a binder for my students to read. I have also been able to print color copies of resources, games, and activities!

My students are always eager to get their hands on the binders! They find it exciting to have the binder in their hands and flip through the pages of the practice sheets. They have been able to use these to practice reading words, sentences, and short text. As each passes, they are improving their reading skills. Each time they find a new page that I have added is like a party in my classroom. They get super excited!

    Once again, many thanks!”

  • Growing Artists

    Funded Dec 18, 2020

I cannot thank you enough for your gift to my students This past year has been very difficult for me as a parent and teacher. Day by day I saw the lack of motivation in my students to participate in Zoom Class. Add to that technical issues and the parents' lack of knowledge about online learning.

But when I prepared art lessons, my students' smiles came out! Thanks to the material you helped fund, my students were able to work on art projects at home as we learned about colors, textures, techniques, animals and nature.

Thank you so much for helping me bring smiles and happiness to my students!”

  • Sculpting During Distance Learning

    Funded Dec 2, 2020

It is with great gratitude that I write this note. This has been a trying time for me as a teacher and as a parent. My students have faced more challenges than ever before: lack of home support, technology issues, minimal motivation to learn.

Your gift helped me provide a little motivation to my students and myself while they struggled to learn from home! We created clay plates together during our Zoom Class as well as a turtle! They were so excited to be working on their sculpting!

They then had the opportunity to use what they learned and create other sculptures in a family project. They couldn't have done this without your support. Once again, thank you for your kindness.”
