"THROW UP" Your Hands to Learn About an Owl's Food Chain
Funded Nov 7, 2011Thanks to your donations, my owl pellet project has been fully funded! Your generosity will help bring science to life in a hands-on investigation that my students are sure to remember! Later during the year, my students will have the opportunity to learn about the flow of the sun's energy throughout an ecosystem. Owls are a type of animal which eats their prey whole, use the food for energy, and then regurgitates a pellet. This pellet contains fur and bones and is a fascinating way to study the food cycle, food chains, and food webs. By examining and dissecting the pellet, my students will get to see the bones of the smaller animals which the owl had eaten. I am sure it will be a memorable experience! Thank you very much!”
With gratitude,
Ms. DeFelice
