Fuel Our Brains!
Funded Dec 24, 2021Thank you for donating to our class. Your donations provided us with plenty of snacks to last for several months. When the students walked in and saw boxes and boxes of snacks scattered across our back counter, they were so excited! Some students have the resources to bring extra snacks from home, but many do not. We kept a snack bin in the back of the classroom, full of the snacks provided by donors. It was always accessible to whoever needed some extra fuel for their brain, no questions asked. Some days, we had to go over 4 hours between breakfast and lunch, so a mid-morning snack really helped.”

Funded Oct 21, 2021Thank you for choosing to give to my classroom. The thrill of opening the box of new books in front of my class was priceless. The students clapped for each book. We read the blurbs on the back and flipped through the pages.
My students have devoured these new books. The class has created a waiting list for nearly every book and keep track of it on their own. They take pride in these new books and treat them like they are gold.
After missing most of in-person school last year, my students crave to hold things in their hands and learn face-to-face. I can't thank you enough for bringing the love of learning back into my classroom.”

Funded Oct 17, 2021The students were THRILLED to learn they would now have access to snacks every day. The snacks this project provided to our classroom has been a game changer. Together, we have created a wonderful system. Snacks are kept in a bin in the back of the classroom. Students know they can grab a snack whenever they are in need of some extra nourishment, no questions ask. They are so grateful to have something to fuel their minds during the long morning hours between breakfast and lunch. Thank you for providing somminds ething so simple, yet so important to the minds (and tummies) of these young learners.”

Super Science Comic Books
Funded Dec 18, 2021Thank you for choosing our classroom to donate to. We recieved our set of Super Science comic books and WOW, they are wonderful! As I pulled each book out of the box and read the title and description, the students clapped and cheered. The class was so excited about the high interest science topics and could not wait to get their hands on the books. I did not even bother putting them on the classroom library shelf because the students ran towards them that first day during independent reading time. Thank uou for fueling the joy of reading into the classroom.”

Starting The Year Off Right! Back to Basics.
Funded Aug 6, 2021I wanted to thank you again for providing to our classroom. This group of students was so eager to return to the classroom full time. After two schools years being interrupted by Covid-19, they were thrilled to be back in person. The transition has not been easy. Although the joy and happiness is clearly present, we have had to spend a lot of time practicing how to be a student again.
One thing that made a huge difference at the start of this school year was having a room full of supplies. I did not have to scramble to come up with supplies, I did not have to use my own money, and most importantly, I did not have to ask the families of my students to come up with money for these supplies.
Many of the students in my classroom come from families who have been hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic. I feel so grateful to be able to provide for these families who have already gone through so much the last two years.”

Funded Jun 3, 2021I can't explain to you the joy my students bring into the classroom this year. After two years of having their school years interrupted by Covid-19 and virtual learning, they FINALLY get to be back in person full time. The adjustment has not been easy, but the students are excited to be here and learn.
Having a classroom library full of new, high interest books is very thrilling for a class of students who have not had the opportunity to go to a library to check-out books in a very long time. There is something magical about flipping through all the books, picking them up, holding them in your hand, and being able to read the text on paper. This class can not get their hands on the books fast enough. They are so happy to have a stack of books on their desk to read throughout the day and even take home.
Thank you for bringing the joy of reading into our classroom!”

Mrs. Thomas
Building a Love of Reading
Funded Mar 2, 2020This beautiful collection of books was delivered to our classroom just weeks before we closed down due to Covid-19. When the box arrived, we sat in a circle and one by one passed the books around. Students admired the front covers, flipped through the pages, and enjoyed the new book smell!
Though not in the classroom teaching this year, I was able to bring these books home and read to my students virtually.
I am looking forward to the day of having students back in my classroom browsing all the new books that have yet to be read. Thank you for for gifting us the love of reading!”

Funded May 5, 2020Thank you for providing my team and I with meaningful professional books. We have enjoyed browsing the titles and sharing the excitement to try something new. We have divided up the books to take home and read while virtual teaching. We plan on coming together to talk about major take-aways and implement the new learning.
This year has been challenging for all, we are thankful for what little bit of normalcy we can find. In this case, working together to help improve our practices as a team feels "normal". Thank you”

Funded May 10, 2020Thank you for choosing my classroom and my students to give to. These gift cards have been a huge help to both myself and my teaching partner as we plan meaningful, fun, and engaging lessons for our students. We have purchased several resource bundles that are already in digital format, saving us so much time. We have purchased materials for science and social studies, two content areas we have very limited resources for. We have also purchased materials for reading interventions and social-emotional health, so help all of our students thrive.
Our students are becoming so comfortable with technology and completing assignments digitally. It helps when the assignments are fun. Again, than you for your generosity.”

Funded May 7, 2019We have loved having a subscription to Time for Kids! Every week, a new magazine arrives to our classroom. We love reading about current events, and other interesting topics that connect to our learning. One of our favorite things is logging on to the Time for Kids website for additional resources. These resources will be so helpful when we begin writing informational pieces. We have been learning a lot about non fiction texts and reporting, we are even in the process of creating our own classroom news article! Thank you for choosing US to support!”
