My students are inspiring! They are passionate, kind and insightful. This league of 7th and 8th graders is more than just another group of low income minority students from the south side of Chicago. I am constantly blown away by not only their ability to problem solve in face of adversity but remain emphatic throughout the process. As a math teacher what really touches my heart is observing how they hold each other accountable using their questioning and reasoning skills. I am honored to have had this opportunity to expose them to new ideas and ways of thinking that can help them become stronger mathematical scholars.
