Our makerspace has several robots like K'Nex, Erector sets, Lego Technics, as well as an array of hobby motors, servos, and Arduino controllers. We also have two 3D printers for making custom parts. While this seems like a nice setup, when 100s of students are sharing, these supplies and parts quickly become scarce. This group would like to expand our supply reservoir and add to our RC collection. They would like to continue building on a plethora of platforms, so as to not be hemmed in due to proprietary restraints. While these students have embraced working collaboratively, we would rather that they be able to work in smaller groups. Their activities have been attracting attention, receiving invites to present at Barnes and Nobel and the International Baccalaureate Conference of the Americas. Your donations to this project will allow students of all skill levels to experience both the coding and programming side of robotics and the physical construction side of robotics. These students will develop physics, mechanics, and math skills in a hands-on environment while using teamwork and problem-solving to reach their goals.
