  • Put It in Their Hands!

    Funded May 24, 2024

Donations are so exciting for our small town kids. They feel like they have been given a personal gift. Thank you so much for caring and giving to kids. They are our future!

This project provided so many fun activities to a classroom that was a blank canvas. We received magnetic tiles that the kids can use to create and build. Geomakers and puzzles are great activities to reinforce math skills. STEM activities are a favorite and the items we received will be utilized for science, math, and engineering learning through play.

Thank you so much for thinking of us.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Carter

  • Hungry? Healthy? Help!

    Funded Jan 8, 2024

Thank you so much for providing snacks and electrolyte drink mixes for our students. We have been using them when our students need a little pick me up during the day.

We have also found them useful when students come to school too late for breakfast. It is so nice having healthy snacks on hand.

Our school is very small and our families have to travel for work. Sometimes students have to wait a bit for their parents to pick them up in the afternoon. Our school provides a third meal but being able to hand the student a special treat makes their wait more enjoyable.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Carter

  • Smile! Teeth are Important

    Funded Oct 20, 2023

Receiving this grant has given every student in our district a new toothbrush and toothpaste. We were able to provide education on oral health. This informative lesson was shared with families as well.

When we hear from students that they do not have their own toothbrush and other daily hygiene items we look for resources to provide for them.

Donors Choose is a blessing to our school. We are a small rural community without many business to support our efforts. Any and all donations are so greatly appreciated.”

  • Safe, Comfortable, and Happy!

    Funded Aug 12, 2023

The impact from Donors Choose grants is fantastic for small schools like ours. We are able to provide safety, creativity, literacy, and more with the supplies we receive. Student's lives and educations are impacted in positive ways.

The resources received from this project helped my class fight the ever present classroom germs. This will help students remain healthy through the winter months.

The journals will be wonderful inspiration for our student's who are dealing with trauma. Writing can be a great outlet for anxiety and stress.

Craft supplies will also be used as a stress reliever for students.

Thank you so much for your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Carter

  • Mental Math Madness

    Funded Nov 3, 2022

This project was a blessing for my students. Math is difficult for many children. Any supplies or manipulatives that support learning are a great asset to math classrooms.

Students are using the calculators, pencils, and paper daily. Some supplies have even been put back to replace what we are currently using.

The other supplies, for increased student self care, are also being put to great use.

The state of Oklahoma has helped teachers by supporting us in this way. What we do is all for the future of our children and ultimately our country. We are truly thankful for this generous contribution to our schools.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Carter

  • Marvelous Mathematicians

    Funded Feb 8, 2022

We have put so many items to good use in our classroom. Games have been played and fun has been had by every student who has entered the math classroom. Our room is better organized thanks to the new shelving and our whiteboard is a fantastic addition. We are able to work together for better success in this room thanks to this amazingly generous donation.

To express my gratitude seems impossible. But my students joy at receiving so many wonderful things said it best. I wish everyone could have experienced their excitement and joy as the boxes were received and opened. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. We feel so truly blessed.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Carter

  • Flying High with Kites and Balls

    Funded Dec 3, 2021

This project got a huge reaction from our students! Flying kites is on the agenda for the first windy spring day. We have played with the other active toys and had a great time. The toss and catch game has become a favorite and I do believe we will look into getting a few more sets.

When we opened the box my students reactions were priceless. They wanted to know who bought the new items and they expressed their gratitude.

Donors like you put smiles on our students faces and this in turn makes teachers smile as well. Thank you for helping us provide moments of joy for our kids.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Carter

  • Clean and Creative!

    Funded Dec 3, 2021

This has been a fun project to introduce and share with our students. Many did not realize "skin color" crayons could actually match their skin tone! We have experimented and played with the different colors and had enlightening discussions.

The soap has been sent home with some students to use at their houses. As an educator it is eye opening to hear students say they can't wash with soap at home because they simply don't have any. Thank you for supporting the healthy habits we are trying to instill in our students.”

  • Full, Cozy, and Warm

    Funded Dec 31, 2021

Yhis week will be the ideal time to share the hats and gloves with our students. It will be very cold and many students will come to school unprepared for the cold. The hats and gloves will be a blessing for little cold ears and fingers.

The snacks have been out to good use. Our students attended an away basketball game and we were able to provide a healthy snack. We have also made snacks available for students who ride the school bus home in the afternoons. Your generous donation has impacted our students and we are very grateful. Thank you.”

Magazines are a wonderful way for students to experience nonfiction texts and to become familiar with current events. Scholastic News, Geography Spin, and Science Spin will provide new opportunities for my 3rd graders to practice comprehension, fluency, and vocabulary and even math. They will also gain valuable knowledge about the world's diverse landscape. It is my hope that my students will become engaged readers, with an increased tolerance of those they will encounter in today's society. These age appropriate magazines will be utilized during science and social studies instruction as well as in small group reading workshops. I know my students will enjoy the experiences they receive while they travel in their imagination through the pages of Scholastic News.
