  • Kits and Kaboodles in Kindergarten

    Thanks to the incredible support from donors like you, my students and I have been able to make remarkable strides in our learning journey. The new resources, which include everyday consumable supplies for our learning centers and daily lessons, have been an absolute game-changer. One unforgettable moment was when I used the supplies to create beautiful gift bags filled with essential school materials for our Meet the Teacher day. When my students first laid eyes on the materials, they were filled with excitement and amazement, knowing that these resources would enhance their educational experience.

    With the generous contribution from our donors, we're now looking ahead to our next exciting project. We'll be utilizing the Cricut supplies to craft vibrant decorations for Hispanic Heritage Month. The students will be deeply engaged in this project as they decorate dolls and create informative posters about a Hispanic country. It's an excellent opportunity for them to learn about different cultures and celebrate diversity while enhancing their artistic skills. Thanks to the kindness of our donors, our classroom is filled with inspiration and endless possibilities for learning and creativity.”

  • Learning From a Distance in Kinder

    Funded Jan 14, 2021

    I was so honored that my project was funded through DonorsChoose. Being that I am teaching an MSO kindergarten class this year, the Apple laptop has proven to be a reliable resource for teaching my students for several reasons.

    To begin with, my students are able to see me clearly and I am able to share videos, backgrounds and power points behind me. This computer is also able to handle many screens being open at the same time. I am also able to switch back and forth to different tabs effortlessly. My students have enjoyed answering poll questions and going into break out rooms for group assignments. The best part of their week is when I have an awesome background behind me which is related to a learning theme for the week. And let's not forget Fun Fridays. Students are excited to see what the topic will be when they see my virtual background on Fridays.

    My students have learned so much about technology this year. Being able to share my screen and share Google Slides with them has enabled them to be aware of computer keys and terms. They have become computer experts.

    In closing, this computer has been a lifesaver. I am able to plan effectively and quickly. Thank you for choosing my project, Learning From a Distance in Kindergarten.”

  • Creativity in Kindergarten Through Art

    I am so delighted that my project was funded! I know that my Kindergarten students will enjoy creating projects from the materials created on the Cricut machine. From holidays to academic projects, this machine will allow me to create materials for my students to use in a snap. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Creative classrooms can really transform the way students acquire education and how they apply it in their real life. In fact, creative expression plays a key role in a student’s emotional development. In my classroom of 18 Kindergarten students, I am always looking for ways to foster creativity in my students. I would like a Cricut machine to enhance creativity and enable me to provide interactive art projects with my students. The Cricut machine could be used in several ways to enhance art and creativity in my classroom: I could create props for literature for the students to use to retell stories, create manipulatives for Math and Reading centers, create props for classroom bulletin boards, create materials for students to use during Art time, classroom celebrations and holidays. The Cricut machine would positively affect my students creativity and I know that they will love using products made by it.
