  • A 21st Century Tech Request!

    Funded Aug 13, 2019

Thank you so much for the generous donations to help purchase a new technology item for my classroom. My students have been using the laptop to create posters, flyers, data charts and Buncee animated presentations to share information connected to our curriculum focuses.

Recently, students completed a S.T.E.A.M challenge building levees. After the challenge, they were required to document their building process, explain why levees are important and state what they could have improved on in their design. They used our laptop to create a brochure, which were they shared with the whole school. The students were very engaged and excited.

Thank you again for making this possible for my students,”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Carter

  • Teach Your Heart Out - Miami!

    Funded Mar 20, 2018

I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for your donations to help me to be able to go to the Teach Your Heart Out conference. I haven't had a chance to attend yet because it is in October, but I couldn't be more excited for the experience. It means so much to me and my students. I can't wait to learn new strategies and teaching techniques that will help me to be a more effective and engaging teacher. I want to be best possible version of me I can be for my students. They deserve the best experience on a daily basis.

    Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Carter

  • We Need Some Color!

    Funded Nov 29, 2017

My students I are so thankful for your support and your donation to our classroom. Having access to technology such as printers and laminators helps give students something tangible to hold and work with hands on. As a teacher, it is so easy to stand at the front of the room and teach from a screen or board. But I have noticed in my short years of experience, that when students have something bright to hold in their hands, their engagement increases and their motivation to participate is amazing. Thank you once again for your donation. I am forever thankful for your kindness.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Carter

This classroom project was brought to life by Atlantic Coast Conference.
With technology growing and changing everyday, there are some really amazing applications and websites being created that can help facilitate students' learning while keeping them interested. Some students really enjoy having an actual book in their hands while they read, while others may fall bored and become distracted. My goal is to keep them interested in reading and help them strengthen the language arts skills they will need throughout their lives. I want to provide as many different types of resources to my students' fingertips as possible and with all the educational programs online, the possibilities are endless. Why not bring reading, writing, practicing and problem solving to my students in the form that they love? A 10'' inch Retina screen! I am asking for funds to purchase a set of 5 iPads to use in the class room. The reason I am asking for 5 is that most likely my classroom will have 17-20 students. Aside from having the opportunity to work on the iPad's individually, I wanted to provide students with the chance to work in groups with the iPads, which would mean about 5 groups of 4 students. This opens up another set of activities we can do together. The students can engage in review games together as teams and they will be able to chime in their answer via iPad or do research as a team for an upcoming literature project. My students are also required to use a program called MyOn on a daily basis, so these would be a great help to making sure they are getting the reading exposure on their level each day.
