Funded Mar 2, 2020Thank you so much for funding this project! We cannot wait to share these fantastic books with our students. We also are looking forward to implementing our new check-out system with the scanner! This will ensure our books are enjoyed at home and then returned to us!
You're the best!”

Funded Apr 15, 2019We are blown away by your generosity! Our students are set to begin typing their historical fiction journals after spring break, so we are so very excited to be able to do this in our classroom on our very own Chromebooks. We are also planning on using them each morning for a reading fluency program as well as for audio books and so much more.
Thank you so much! You have made 29 students and 2 teachers feel very loved and supported.”

Inspiring Materials for Classroom Creations
Funded Aug 29, 2018Because of your generous gift we have been able to embark on some ambitious art projects this year. As each box arrived and we unpacked the materials the excitement grew. Since we are raising trout in the classroom, we began the year by creating Chuck Close inspired large-scale trout murals. We used thick watercolor paper and pastels to create stunning pieces of art. Our next big project was a collage of an animal the kids would find in Brooklyn 400 years ago. We were able to use the collage paper and trays to create works of art with depth and texture. Both of these art projects are tied into our Social Studies and Science curriculum in an meaningful way. Our next big project will be the embroidered self-portraits. We will begin those after winter break and the kids are already so excited to begin.
As we move into this next phase of our Eastern Woodlands study, the kids will select a topic and project for our museum. I have no doubt that the materials you have provided will help them demonstrate their learning in the most creative ways. Thank you again for your generosity!”
