Classroom Necessities for the Win!
Funded Dec 4, 2024Thank you so much for contributing to my project. As teachers, we want the best for our students. Being able to print work so it can be proudly displayed is so important. Having pencils available for anyone who needs one makes a difference. Supplies that seem insignificant actually have a huge impact. Now we can make it through to the end of the year with our basic needs met. Our bulletin boards will be polished and everyone will be equipped with the tools they need to learn and grow. So thank you for making a difference in my students' education. I appreciate you more than words can express.”

Funded Mar 26, 2024The novels in Spanish have been a success! Many of my English Language Learners were so excited to see popular books in their native language.
They have been engaged in reading the books and enjoy being included in the discussions and fun. Even students from other grades have checked out the new books. Reading these books will help improve their cognitive and literary skills. It will also enhance their overall language skills through discussion with their peers.
Thank you for giving my students this gift. Your generosity has truly had an impact. Reading should be accessible to everyone, and you have made it happen for my students!”

Funded Sep 20, 2023My students have been loving the new books they received from you this year. The graphic novels are the favorites, but some of them are reading Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds with me, and they are captivated by it, especially my students with disabilities. At a time when so many kids dislike reading, these books and their engagement with them is giving me hope.
I appreciate your generosity more than words can express. Please, if you are so inclined, continue to donate to education and our students. They are so full of potential, and with your support, they can reach for the stars. Happy Holidays!”

Funded Feb 16, 2023Thank you helping us getting our printer ink funded so quickly! I am still sad that we did not get our student laptops funded (thank you for trying!), but I am thrilled that we hopefully will not run out of ink again this school year. Being a teacher in these times is tough, so I am thankful for those of you who see that we need help. You recognize that we have to find ways to help our students thrive despite the system being broken. Thank you for being a partner with me in educating these wonderful humans.
Our students with IEPs benefit greatly from having a working copier on hand. My co-teachers and I can print off graphic organizers and other supports on the spot, the moment we see what they need. Having ink also allows us to showcase our students' typed work on our classroom and hallway bulletin boards. Having ink gives us the freedom to print when we need to, and not have to wait in line.
Thank you again. We appreciate you!”

Please Help My Students Print and Showcase Their Writing!
Funded Oct 16, 2021We have had our printer for some time now, and it has been an extremely useful addition to our classroom. We print last minute ideas for scaffolding and supporting students' individual learning needs, we print signs and worksheets, and best of all, we print the products of our students' hard work - their writing! It has been rewarding for the students to see their work typed and displayed in the classroom and hallways. Now, we can admire the finished pieces, and so can others! Thank you so much for helping make this goal a reality for us!”

Classroom Library in Need of TLC!
Funded Dec 5, 2017The day I unboxed the books, I had help from several eager girls who could not wait to get their hands on them. They were so excited, and begged to have first choice, which of course I allowed them since they were so helpful. The rest of my classes waited until I set up a book tasting for them, where they rotated from table to table, trying out a few pages of different genres. Almost everyone found a book they were interested in. After the book tasting, I set up the new library, filling all the bins with the new, contemporary books, and by the end of the day, I had mostly empty book bins! The graphic novels are the most popular, so when one of them is returned, it is immediately grabbed up by the next eager reader. We now have more success with independent reading time, as the book selection is much more appealing and relevant to my students' interests.
Seeing my students, many who are reluctant and lower level readers, so enthusiastic about books has been a truly rewarding experience. Now it is not so much of a struggle to write about main characters, setting, plot, etc, and to find connections in their reading to themselves, other books, and to the world around them. Some have told me they didn't like reading on their own until now. Some have been caught reading during the lesson or in other classes... and I have to admit, this secretly thrills me.
Without your gift, none of this would have been possible. Thank you.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Morales
