Fidget Towards High Achievement!

Funded Feb 21, 2017

Over the past two months, the students have been using their new fidget toys to maintain concentration in and out of the classroom. During the last few months of school, our students are challenged through many rounds of testing. The fidget toys allow them to move and get the physical stimulation they need while contributing to a silent and still testing environment.

When the boxes first arrived, I allowed my advisory students to open everything and throw away the packaging. They were so excited! They immediately found their favorite fidget and and telling each other to, "check out this one!" Their reactions when I told them people all over the country donated to this project were priceless. The kids couldn't believe that random people they didn't know would care so much about their education.

At the end of the school year, I intend to pass on my fidgets to other teachers and staff in the building as I will be taking a break from the classroom. I have already spoken with one of our special education teachers who is looking forward to seeing her own kids wiggle and rock on their new seat cushions.”

With gratitude,
