I teach a unique set of children from 7th to 12th grade, 13 to 22 years of age who have had some personal, family, and community challenges (incarcerated, teen mothers, have emotional and mental challenges, etc.) in their lives. Our two small campuses have low student-to-teacher ratios offering instruction to students between the ages of 16 and 18 who are deemed as-risk of not completing their education. As an educator ... all of a sudden, aside from being a multi-tasking teacher, psychologist, nurse, parent, counselor and social-emotional learning expert...we became technology advisors, support technicians, and computer support professionals and do everything to allow our students to thrive and succeed, one last time. I am writing this grant to plead my case to this lofty organization for a couple of computer monitors, and a regular printer to allow me to articulate the mathematical concepts and principles to high school students who are in their critical stages of promotions and graduation.
