I teach all levels of high school biology, a lab-based, state mandated class. I teach in a rural, Title I public school. Most of the students that I teach are from a minority race and over 50% of our school is on free and/or reduced lunch. I have 6 students that have an IEP, 2 that have a 504, and 3 that have a school-placed behavior plan - all of these students needing extra intervention to help gear toward success. Many of my students come from great families, but many others struggle with their family-life. I try to be a "home away from home" for all my students and I strive to maintain a safe and inviting environment where all are welcome to learn, despite any learning disabilities or problems at home. My students have come to love learning and I absolutely dote on my "bio babies". Thank you for your support in our education!
