In my 9-12 classroom, my students primarily need a variety of art supplies and classroom basics. They look forward to creating comic strips, painting or sculpting replicas of fine art, designing masks, or creating flipcharts for studying world languages. Anything hands-on gets my students excited about learning!
Aside from my role as a classroom teacher, I am also our school district's Assistant Director for the After School Program. This is another area in which I am able to support K-5 students' learning in STEM and the Arts throughout the school year and even the summer months.
Nearly all of my students, whether they are seniors in high school or just starting Kindergarten, live well below the poverty level. All of my DonorsChoose projects are aimed at helping my students succeed both inside & outside of the classroom, giving them the stepping stones they need to break the cycle of generational poverty.
