With Great Behavior Comes Great Rewards!
Funded Aug 14, 2024We are so grateful for your generous contributions to our classroom! Your support has allowed me to provide prizes such as ring pops, pencils, erasers, sharpeners and bookmarks for our class store. As a result of your contribution, every Friday students are now able to rack up points and purchase cool items for themselves. I believe that by providing this classroom store for students they become more motivated and inspired to do well behaviorally in school.
Once again, thank you for valuing education and supporting our classroom!”

Funded Sep 6, 2023Having the proper seating for my students has made such a difference in the classroom. Before the project was funded students needed to carry their own chair from their desk over to our small group instruction area. It was noisy and dangerous as students carried chairs over their heads. We managed to find more chairs for the small group table but the chairs were broken and took up too much space.
As a result of the project being funded, we were able to purchase stools for the small group table that did not need to be moved. These stools take up less space and even look nicer! We were even able to provide cushions for the library area! The students enjoy reading even more now that they can sit comfortably. This is all because of your contribution to our project! Thank you for making education a priority in your life, my class is thankful for your generosity!”

Funded Aug 11, 2023Thank you so much for your donations and for making this project come to life. This project had a lot of items that I felt would make a student feel celebrated. I know that the students are going to be so excited when they get their birthday kits or their tooth necklace when they lose a tooth during class. While they may not be used everyday these are items that I know will leave a long lasting impression.
The project also had items that would produce a classroom that is easy to navigate and ultimately set the student up for success. Some of these items included posters with academic information, bulletin board decor, a sharpener, name plates with math information and hall passes. Being a teacher for 5 years has shown me that these are items we need to run a smooth class and I thank you for providing that to me and my students. I've always wanted to have and maintain a classroom that my students find visually appealing and I have been able to do that, in large part because of you. I am grateful for your generosity and I know my students are too.”

Funded Nov 30, 2022I did not truly understand how much of an effect these headphones would have on my students until they arrived in the classroom. The excitement on their faces was indescribable. As soon as the package was received we quickly numbered our baggies and assigned a set of headphones to each student. Not only did they have access to headphones, they had access to their very own set. They could now listen to audio books and educational videos without disturbing others. My students who were easily distracted could now put on their headphones and focus for awhile. It has been a help throughout the day.
I am thankful for all of the donations that made this possible. We are beyond grateful.”

Funded Aug 10, 2022We are so grateful for your generosity. August and September in our school is usually a blur because of how hot the classroom gets. Last year I purchased a cheap fan just to get us by but it just wasn't enough. This year I decided to try to get extra help from Donors Choose. We were able to purchase 2 new fans for our classroom and I don't think the students could get any more excited. It was particularly helpful for the hours after gym or recess. It's definitely not like the fan I previously bought, it's tall so it provides more air flow and also comes with a remote control which is helpful. I look forward to many more Augusts and Septembers with my future classes enjoying the cool air.
Thank you again!”

Funded Jun 25, 2022I have always believed that children should be able to find the fun in school work. It is how I can connect with reluctant learners. I am grateful that you feel the same way and decided to donate to my project. The project included so many games, once students are done with their classwork they can choose a game to play thats on their grade level. They love getting their work done because they know that soon they can play a literacy game with their friends. It has allowed them to socialize and continue practicing the skills we learn about in class.
We played together during small group time and now they are experts and can lead game groups amongst themselves. I am looking forward to seeing their continued growth this year as a result of the games.
Thank you so much for believing in this project and for making this possible.”

Studies Weekly to Learn Daily
Funded Oct 22, 2021It has been such a great experience having Studies Weekly in our class, thanks to your donation. Opening the box and being able to give each student their own personal newspaper was great. They appreciated having their own copy to look at instead of staring at the screen with the information. Along with the physical newspaper, they were also able to access the website that had lots more information. There they were able to read the articles, answer questions and get points with every correct answer.
They love being able to go the Studies Weekly virtual store for prizes. Just by purchasing this resource I was able to bring life into my Social Studies class. Thank you to all of the donors! It couldn't have been done without you!”

Funded Oct 28, 2021Having these water bottle holders have been such a great help in our classroom. The students were so excited when these first arrived. Even the Assistant Principal noticed and complimented them when she came in for an observation. It may not seem like a big deal but it has gotten rid of a few obstacles we had.
Before we had them, water would be spilling everywhere. Understandably, the students did not want to put their bottles on the floor. Having these holders have eliminated all of these challenges. Additionally, our papers are no longer getting wet on the desks.
In addition to the water bottle holders, we were able to purchase mask lanyards which decreased the amount of lost masks throughout the day. Both of these purchases help to have a smoother day for students and staff! We are grateful for your help in making this possible.”

Extreme Makeover Classroom Edition
Funded Aug 19, 2021It has been a few months since the classroom has been updated with your donations and I am still so grateful for your generosity. Because we are in a Title 1 School, often times the money we receive goes into necessary items such as textbooks and writing supplies, being able to make a classroom feel like home is an expense that comes straight from a teachers pocket and one we often cannot afford.
Your donations allowed me to wallpaper an extremely old desk, add artificial plants, hang up photos and redo all of our bulletin boards. All together, it made our classroom look warm and inviting. So many fellow educators have passed by and expressed how inviting the classroom looks, some of my past students still come in the room just to look around and tell me how updated and amazing it looks and feels.
Thank you so much for your donations and allowing me to create this environment for my current and future students.”

Funded Apr 12, 2021Throughout my teaching career I have encountered students who are behind in math and reading. Requesting a Teachers Pay Teachers gift card allowed me to purchase multiple intervention programs for my class and my future classes. I was able to purchase a math intervention program that covers topics for the entire school year and a reading bundle for readers in Levels E-G, this allows me to specifically target and help those students who are 2 or more levels behind. Both of the resources provide practice work and assessments for the students. Additionally, I can print these resources in paper and also have the option for digital versions.
Students have enjoyed working in small groups and having these programs have made it easy for me to plan and work with students daily. I am excited to see their progress and know that these programs will help many students to come.
Thank you to the donors who made this possible!”
