  • Our School Garden

    Funded Jun 10, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donations for our school garden! The students will experience various hands on activities and tasks that involve growing and caring for a garden. The garden will provide our students with a fun and engaging way to learn almost any subject – from science, math, and art. It will help teach the students life lessons through direct experiences and kinesthetic participation with their peers. It will expose students to social situations in a natural environment, developing social skills such as turn taking. The garden will help develop gross and fine motor skills needed to care for a garden which can be applied across all natural environments.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Cordaro

  • Our School's Spring Family Celebration!

    Funded Feb 28, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donations that helped make our inaugural spring scavenger hunt a reality! The students and parents had an amazing time exploring all the centers that represented spring! We are looking forward to having another spring scavenger hunt next year and for years to come! The students and parents enjoyed exploring the water beads to find the hidden sea animals. They enjoyed sequencing the life cycles of the butterfly, frog, and chicken. The families also enjoyed planting their own seeds in their pots to take home and watch grow. The scavenger hunt was a great success!”

  • A Multi-Sensory Learning Environment for Children With Autism

    Funded Oct 1, 2018

Thank you all again for your generous donations to our classroom. We have been using all the supplies you helped provide for us daily and the students are benefiting greatly from them. The sand bin has been a great tool for engaging students in various sensory activities. The ADL boards have helped the students increase their skills in buttoning, snapping, zipping, and tying. The tent offers the students a calming space with the scarves. The various board games as well as storytelling box helps our students develop comprehension skills as well as turn taking. Thank you again from all of us! You have enriched our classroom and students in so many ways!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Cordaro

The materials and supplies I requested for my students such as the water exploration station will assist in their education with a multi-sensory approach, thus allowing them to learn through play. The dress boards will help my students develop skills to increase their independence such as zipping a coat or tying a shoe. The games will help develop turn taking and increase social interaction with their classmates. The weighted blanket will increase their focus and help calm them. The CD player will support student learning through music and movement. Each child with Autism is unique and requires differentiated instruction. These supplies will aid in developing fine motor, socialization, and cognitive skills. Please consider donating to my project. With these supplies, my students will reinforce their current skills and develop new one so they can reach their full potential.
