Classroom Basics Needed
Funded May 28, 2024Thank you for helping to fully fund my project. With your donation, we were able to receive basic classroom items which helped my students become more successful in their educational journey. Each of my students were provided with good-quality folders that will be used the entire school year to take back and forth to school each day. These folders help my students to get their homework and important information home and back to school again.
My students also received other classroom basics such as pencils, glue sticks, dry erase markers and construction paper. Having a sharpened quality pencil with a good eraser in the hands of every student each day is essential to the learning process. My students are also using the glue sticks and colored construction paper in order to make projects in all academic subjects. The dry erase markers are being used with marker boards during math. With your support, my students were provided the classroom basics that they needed.”

Funded Apr 30, 2024I want to take this time to express my appreciation for your support. Thanks to you, my students had so much fun learning about wants/needs, scarcity, supply/demand, and spending/saving. With your generous donation to my project, I was able to get flashlights, beach balls, and other items that were used to create a mock store situation. This gave my students the opportunity to learn about managing inventory, calculating costs, and determining prices. They also learned about ways to recycle, reduce and reuse items.
The students earned classroom cash throughout the week. On Fridays, they had to decide whether or not they wanted to spend or save their classroom cash. They had to keep up with their own balances in order to know how much they had to spend each week. With your support, this project gave my students a real-life experience running a business while they learned about financial literacy and taking care of their environment.”

Funded May 7, 2024My students were so excited when the boxes arrived. They were even more excited when they saw the Play-Dough, Kinetic Sand and the drawing books. They wanted to play with the items right away!
The Play-Dough gave my students the opportunity to use their imaginations and create whatever they wanted. They often liked to show me the creations they made.
The Kinetic Sand was a real hit with my students. They were able to pull it, shape it and mold it, to create incredible sand art.
My students also loved to draw in the drawing books. I believe these activities benefited my students both mentally and emotionally. Thank you for believing in the importance of exercising one's creativity.”

Funded May 7, 2024Thank you for your generous donation towards my project. Because of your support, each of my students were given a set of addition and subtraction flash cards. The children were given time to practice these facts with a partner several times a week. By the end of the school year, I was able to see an improvement in their overall fact fluency.
These addition and subtraction flash cards were then sent home with my students to be practiced over the summer break. These flash cards are helping my students to become good mathematicians. Thank you for supporting education.”

Funded May 4, 2024My students and I would like to thank you for helping to make this project come alive. They were really excited when I gave them their own copy of the National Geographic Readers: Caterpillar to Butterfly book. This book was very helpful in teaching the kids all about the butterfly life cycle, their metamorphosis, and migration. This book enabled my students to be engaged in the lesson as they learned all about butterflies.
The journals were also helpful by giving my students the opportunity to record and illustrate everything they learned out butterflies, their metamorphosis and migration. Your support is very much appreciated!”

Funded Jan 16, 2024Thank you for your generous donation that helped to fully fund my project My students now have some essential items that they needed.
Each student was given a pair of gloves that were helpful in keeping their hands warm during the winter months. The wipes have enabled my students the ability to keep their hands and desk surfaces clean. The Band-Aids are of great quality, and I was able to replace the cheap ones the school provided us with that do not effectively stick to the skin. My students have enjoyed drinking the Kool-Aid Jammers instead of always having to drink just water. Also, The Sour Grape books have been thoroughly enjoyed by the kids. This story has been a wonderful way to teach a lesson on forgiveness and compassion.
Thank you so much for believing in the importance of education. Your support is very much appreciated!”

Funded Dec 31, 2023Thank you for donating to help fully fund my DonorsChoose project for printer ink and copy paper. In second grade, the children write and publish four writings throughout the school year.
These writings are narratives, a how-to, opinions and informational reports. The children work hard for several days on each piece of writing. Because of your donation we have printer ink and copy paper, which has enabled me to print these stories, so they can be taken home and shared with parents.
My students get so excited when they see their writing pieces printed. They feel so proud when they get to take them home to show their parents their hard work. The parents love seeing the end product. This also helps to connect the parents to the classroom.
This would not have been able to happen without your support. Thank you again!”

Germ Busters
Funded Nov 27, 2023Thank you for helping to fully fund my DonorsChoose project. This has provided my classroom with basic health care items which have been used to help my students to stay healthy enough to come to school.
The Lysol Wipes have been helpful in cleaning the children's desk, tables and countertops. The children go to the restroom several times a day, so the Germ-X Sanitizer has definitely come in handy. The Kleenex boxes have been used throughout the year.
Having these much-needed life essential items in the classroom have helped to keep my students clean and healthy enough so that they can come to school and be successful. Your support is very much appreciated.”

Funded Dec 31, 2023Thank you for your generous donation towards my project! My students were so excited when they saw the packages arrive! They were even more excited when I told them that they were going to be able to earn the items through a mock store situation.
This hands-on experience enabled them to learn about financial literacy. Using the mock store helped the students learn about things such as wants/needs, scarcity, supply/demand, and spending/saving. They had so much fun learning in an engaging way about these topics.
They were motivated to earn class cash in order to purchase the flashlights, sunglasses, and beach balls. This gave my students the opportunity to learn about managing inventory, calculating costs, and determining prices.
Thank you again for your support! It enabled my students the opportunity to learn about financial literacy through a "real-life" experience running a business.”
