  • Learning Even More About the Arts With Technology

    Funded Dec 29, 2017

Thank you so much for your generous donation to help fully fund my "Learning About the Arts with Technology" proposal! The HP Chromebook is such a great asset to have in the classroom. I am now able to combine the arts with technology. My students have already begun to find new and exciting ways to incorporate the arts in their learning process. My students seem to be more motivated and engaged when they are using technology.

This HP Chromebook is also helping my students to learn and develop the necessary skills to become better 21st century learners. Since our school does not currently have enough technology for each student to get sufficient exposure, this Chromebook is helping with that deficit. This could not have happened without your support! Thank you for believing in the importance of education”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bullard

  • Teach Me About Financial Literacy

    Funded Dec 30, 2017

I cannot thank you enough for the HP Chromebook you helped to fully fund. I have already used the Chromebook to access some financial literacy websites where I am learning how to better teach it to my students. These professional development websites have videos on topics such as how to teach budgeting, needs vs. wants, and savings plans that I am able to access for free.

This HP Chromebook is enabling me to grow professionally into a stronger financial literacy teacher. In turn, I will be better able to help teach my students how to spend money wisely and how to make good financial choices. This could not have been possible without your generous donation. Thank you for believing in the importance of education!”

  • Balance, Fitness, and Focused Minds

    Funded Dec 20, 2017

Thank you so much for helping to fully fund my Balance, Fitness and Focused Minds proposal. The children were so excited the other day when I showed them everything. Since it was raining outside, it was a perfect day to make use of the items. They used the movement scarves as I played the Fitness Fun for Kids Movement CD. As you can see in the photos, they really enjoyed themselves. They were also given a turn to use the balance pods. To end playtime, they played girls against boys in a ring toss game. They had so much fun that they didn't want it to end! The best part is that they were getting plenty of exercise while having fun. The students and I really appreciate your generosity!”

  • Engaging Parents in Reading

    Funded Nov 28, 2017

Thank you so much for funding my DonorsChoose proposal "Engaging Parents in Reading". These materials allow my students to receive the extra practice they need in developing and expanding their language skills in vocabulary acquisition and phonics, reading literature, reading informational text, comprehension, language, foundational reading and language conventions.

They are enjoying the opportunity to take home these fun activities and interacting with their parents as they improve their reading success. Work done in the classroom is essential for setting the foundations of understanding, but home learning is crucial for reinforcing concepts on a long-term basis. These language skills games are a perfect way to have my students and their families interact, while they improve their reading skills.

Thank you for your kindness and for blessing my students with these learning resources. Together we can make a difference in the lives of others!”

  • Creative Learners

    Funded May 26, 2017

The Silhouette Cameo 3 has been a real hit with my students so far! They were real excited when I told them that they would be able to create their own designs and bring them to life. They were amazed as they saw what the machine was actually able to do.

The Cameo is going to be used on many future projects as well. This cutting machine will help my students learn how to work together in order to create and design an end product.

I cannot thank you enough for providing the opportunity for my students to not only be creative, but also to learn how to use new technology of the 21st Century. We greatly appreciate your support!”

  • Everyone Matters

    Funded May 26, 2017

My students are enjoying the books about Kenya. These books are helping them to learn about a culture which is different from theirs. They are learning that even though we may look or do things differently than others, everyone still matters. We have been talking about the importance of getting along with others who may be different from us. Learning about tolerance in the real world is just as important as it is in the classroom. Next, we will be reading the books about people who live in Japan.

The rug has been a wonderful addition to the classroom. It has given the children a place to gather together and work on building a "community." The feeling of being a part of a community is helping them to learn how to get along better with each other.”

  • Developing Authors & Illustrators

    Funded May 19, 2017

My students were so excited when I told them they were going to illustrate and write their very own story books. Since then, they beg me everyday to work on them. Each child is working on a story about themselves. They have written some basic things like where they live and how old they are. They have also done a page about being in second grade. Next, they will be writing about their friends at school and what they like best about school. After the books are completely finished, they will be able to take them home to share with their families and friends. I can only imagine how proud they will be when they share their very own creations! Thank you for your support!”

  • In Need of Basic Supplies

    Funded May 26, 2017

I cannot begin to thank you enough for donating towards school supplies for my students. I wish you could have seen the smiles on their faces when they were first given the pencils, erasers, crayons, folders and pencil pouches. Such basic needs are sometimes not affordable for families, especially if they have several children to buy for each year. These supplies will help in making the children successful this school year. You have touched our hearts with your generosity and we appreciate your kindness!”

  • Tolerance With Pete the Cat

    Funded Jun 20, 2017

My students were so excited when the Pete the Cat books arrived! They begged to read them and to have me read some to them. He is a favorite book character for all!

What I like best about these books is that Pete often encounters obstacles, but he does not let them defeat him. He always looks on the bright side of things. These books do a great job teaching about tolerance, acceptance, kindness and perseverance. They have positive lessons in them that teach the children to look past differences and to always have a good attitude.

The seat cushions are an added bonus. The children enjoy sitting on them just as much as they enjoy reading the books. Thank you for believing in the value of education!”
