We have been implementing Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS) throughout our school. All students develop and learn social, emotional, and behavioral competence, supporting their academic engagement. We would like to incorporate buddy benches around school to help with this. Students that need a friend or someone to talk with can sit on the Buddy Bench! Buddy Benches will help eliminate loneliness and encourage friendship on the playground. Buddy Benches will help foster our mission of inclusion and kindness! Whether a student is feeling overwhelmed, shy or just having an off day, sitting on the bench means they would like someone to talk to or play with. Buddy Benches will promote inclusivity and cultivate friendships.
