I teach origami and how to use chopsticks as part of teaching the Japanese culture. Students enjoy the hands-on activities. Many students are suffering from being less social. My sophomores, juniors, and seniors are visibly enjoying each other's company since they took the previous class together but freshmen are still intense. I do a lot of group work in the class (I teach new grammar, give the groups examples to work on). I believe rotating the group to sit on the bean bag will create a casual environment where students feel easier to relax and bond with their peers easily which makes the class more fun to participate in. Some students don't have notebooks. Campus notebooks are standard notebooks for K12 students in Japan. It does not tear. I want to provide a notebook to each student to keep everything in one place. One senior uses his Campus notebook he started using in his freshman year. The 3.5 years worth of grammar notes are very useful. Thank you very much for reading my application.
