  • eSports Automobile and Motorsports Safety Program Additional Equipment

    Thank you for all you have done, your donations helped us reach our goal of a new stand to support a donated simulator for our students. We now have 3 working simulators through donorschoose and outside donors.

    The simple act of reaching out has helped our students reach higher, a recently as last weekend a driver that primarily drives in the virtual world won his division and the Rolex 24 hour race at Daytona, further cementing the idea that with access can come achievement.

    While our students do not come from traditional backgrounds that breed a driver or have the ability to partake in the standard training that leads to careers in motorsports. The small glimpse you have given them will allow them to become more comfortable in cars and see legitimate careers in an area they may never have imagined.”

  • Esports Automobile and Motorsport Safety Simulator Program

    Funded Nov 18, 2022

    Thank you again, from myself and all the student's who were impacted by your generosity. The program, is finally coming together and we are able to start offering the simulator to the students to use as part of our new eSports team for the incoming season starting in early February. We are also now able to offer use of the sim rig for the National Honor Society as part of their fundraising efforts at the school during their campus wide gaming night, which also will garner us more interest in our driver safety program.

    An off shoot of this successful campaign is that I was able to convince other teachers in the building to introduce projects of their own on Donors Choose and one other teachers has already had a project funded for her art program. Success, even at a small school like ours, breeds success. This small win has shown our children that great things can come from humble beginnings.

    Our next steps are not only to implement the fun aspects of the simulator but also tackle the real world connections and applications of this program. Which will lead to greater success for our students on their drivers examination and future interest in motorsports and vehicle related careers. This was all made possible with people like you making the decision to make a positive change in the lives of our young people.”

They are mostly Black and Brown students who do not traditionally have experience with eSports and/or non traditional STEAM education. This project allows them the chance to see gaming as a tool not just for fun but for competition, education, safety, and even career advancement. Help my students reach higher by reaching out a helping hand.
