  • Classroom Storage/Organization

    Funded Sep 17, 2024

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for your generous support through DonorsChoose.org, which has enabled us to acquire a metal storage cabinet for our classroom. Your contributions have made a significant impact on our learning environment, and I want to share how this gift has transformed our space and benefited our students.

Before the cabinet arrived, our classroom was often cluttered with supplies and materials, making it challenging for students to focus and find what they needed. Thanks to your donations, we now have a dedicated space to store educational resources, art supplies, and classroom materials. This has not only helped to eliminate clutter but has also created an organized and inviting atmosphere where students can thrive.

The new storage cabinet has empowered my students to take more ownership of their learning. They can now easily access materials for projects, engage in hands-on activities, and collaborate more effectively with their peers. Additionally, this organization fosters a sense of responsibility and respect for our shared learning space, teaching students valuable life skills.

Your kindness and generosity have made a real difference in our classroom. I am incredibly grateful for your support, and I want you to know that your investment in my students' education will have lasting effects. Thank you once again for believing in our classroom and my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Bryan

  • Ink Cartridges for Visual Supports

    Funded Nov 18, 2020

First let me start off with a huge thank you! The ink cartridges could not have arrived at a better time. There are so many ways that the ink cartridges have been used in the classroom. With this pandemic we had started the school year in-person, we then went remote for two months, and thankfully we are back in-person. During these transitions I have gone into printing overload. Working with this population of students unexpected changes in their routines or schedules can be catastrophic. With your generous donation I was able to print social stories that helped with the transitions between in school learning and learning via virtual video conferencing (i.e. Zoom), I was able to print and send home visual supports to help with behavior management, I was able to print out and create individualized Picture Exchange Communication Books that were specialized to each child, as well as print out colored copies of activities that have increased the engagement of my students while at home during remote learning.

The impact that this shipment of ink has had on our classroom is immense! Not only have I been able to help my students communicate with colored visuals, I am also able to print awesome teacher made items that I have purchased to help enrich and intervene the learning that is going on in my classroom. I have been able to send home colored copies of leveled reading books, student work, and colored remote weekly schedules that allowed me to continue communicating with my student's parents. These ink cartridges have allowed me to skip waiting in line at my local Staples!

I cannot thank you enough! You have made such an impact on my teaching both in the classroom and via Zoom, my students, and their ability to communicate. You are a lifesaver and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Bryan

  • Technology Please!!!

    Funded Oct 8, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donation. Even though some of us are nonverbal, meaning we do not produce any meaningful words, or communicate through verbal approximations, the smiles on our faces when we opened the box of Amazon Fire Tablets and tablet protective cases says it all!! We love the ability to have Technology right at our fingertips! Since our time with in-person learning can change at anytime due to COVID-19 we have been working on how to access the Virtual Learning Platforms as well as appropriately handling the Technology while in the classroom. These Amazon Fire Tablets have allowed us to access the everyday curriculum and activities posted via Virtual Learning Platforms incase we ever have to go remote and learn from home.

Thank you so very much for supporting my classroom my students have been an inspiration to me and we are extremely grateful and humbled by your support”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Bryan

  • See The Able Not The Label

    Funded Jan 26, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donation. Even though some of us are nonverbal, meaning we do not produce any meaningful words, or communicate through verbal approximations, the smiles on our faces when we opened the box of sensory tools says it all!! We love the new weighted lap pads for morning meeting, as well as the chewy stix and theraputty to hold during our non-preferred daily transitions. These sensory tools have helped us when we start getting overwhelmed with our sensory overload and instantly have relaxed/calmed us down allowing for a smoother day.

Thank you so very much for supporting my classroom my students have been an inspiration to me and we are extremely grateful and humbled by your support”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Bryan

This classroom project was brought to life by The First Million Fund and 14 other donors.
The students in my classroom come to school every day full of life and ready to learn! Just like adults get tired of sitting in hard chairs all day, students do as well! My students need more flexible and comfortable seating options to enhance their engagement and learning. Recent studies as well as every day classroom expose has shown that students learn better when they are physically active and comfortable. All of these different seating options will give my students the opportunity to sit comfortably and move around while they are learning. Morning meeting is where most of our academics throughout the day is presented the wobble cushions and bean bags would make sitting at morning meeting more enjoyable. The balance ball chairs will go great at the table during work jobs allowing the students the option to kneel, bounce or even sit on something more comfortable then the everyday hard blue chairs that the district supplies them with. This project would significantly help my students stay engaged in our learning throughout the day. I want them to feel comfortable and at home in our classroom! Flexible Seating is the new way to learn and I as an educator cannot wait to see all of the thing myself as well as the amazing students in my classroom can accomplish when they are given the chance to choose what they want to sit on!
