  • Being Flexible in Second Grade!

    Funded Oct 18, 2019

Words cannot express my deepest gratitude for your generous donations towards our classroom. My students were completely thrilled to see all of the amazing flexible seating options we now have within our classroom. Their smiles, joy, and complete elation cannot be matched.

Giving my students choice each day in their learning has proven so far to be beneficial. They are taking charge of their learning, learning how to make smart choices, and how to share with their classmates. In turn, this is creating a collaborative classroom that I know I personally look forward to coming into each day. I can tell they enjoy their classroom, and who they share it with as well.

Thank you again from all of us here in Mrs. Lugo's classroom. From us big adults, to the smallest of learners. It means the world to each of us!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lugo

  • Tablets to Enhance Teaching

    Funded Nov 13, 2018

Words cannot express my gratitude for your generous donations towards purchasing tablets with protective cases for our classroom. The students are learning how to research for writing lessons we are doing, and this is giving them another way to gather information for their work.

The students were so excited to see that others cared about their learning as much as they did. They are happy to have these new tablets to do their work, and are excited to begin to use them within the class day.

We truly appreciate your help in obtaining these items and are thankful for people like you that care about education too. Thanks so much again!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lugo

  • New Year with New Supplies!

    Funded Nov 26, 2017

This project has helped my class tremendously to start the new school year. They were able to create All About Me projects and personalize their projects specific to themselves. Now that we have a lot of construction paper, we are able to do many more activities and enhance our curriculum.

The students always need to have glue sticks in order to do our projects, and with your generous donations, they now have enough to last awhile.

I greatly appreciate all of your kind donations and my class is forever enhanced by your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lugo

  • Seeking STEM Supplies for Second Grade!

    Funded Aug 17, 2017

Words cannot express how thankful I am for the generous donations to supply STEM materials for my classroom this year. My class is beyond excited to start creating and using the materials to make amazing projects that truly capture their personality and spirit.

We plan to have a STEM day every week where we will look at different structures through pictures and then try and create them using the materials you, the donors, purchased for us. This will help the children be creative and bring out their imaginations in many different ways.

Thank you again for your donations. It means a lot to know that people value education as much as I do.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lugo

  • Growing and Exploring in Second Grade!

    Funded Mar 9, 2017

Words cannot express how thankful we are to have received such generous donations from you all. From the moment I opened the boxes, the joy and elation from each child was apparent. "I can't believe we got all of these amazing things!" one child remarked.

We already planted our seeds in the new planetarium, in hopes that it will grow and cheer us up after all the snow we had here in New York! We cannot wait to see and learn more about the plant life cycle.

I plan to get some fish so that the students can enjoy watching them swim and have a healthy, happy home. The BiOrb is amazing and they are already itching to have fish sooner, rather than later!

We also plan to use our magnets to learn the different properties and poles.

Again, thank you so much from a class full of eager and excited second graders and myself!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lugo

  • Starting Second Grade Off Stunningly With Supplies!

    Funded Aug 2, 2016

Dear Ralfee Finn and Catherine Quan,

Thank you so much for your amazing donations to my classroom. Words of gratitude cannot be expressed accurately as much as the smiles my students showed when I opened up the packages and showed them the wonderful art supplies they received from both of you.

It means a lot to them, as well as me, that others support our classroom and the desire to develop the whole child. We already have plans for the tissue paper to make flags for Hispanic Heritage Month. We used the construction paper to create maps of Mexico and Dominican Republic the other day.

Thank you for all you have done. We plan to use all the supplies throughout the year to create wonderful extensions of our learning.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lugo

  • Placing Math First In First Grade

    Funded Feb 19, 2015

I cannot thank you all enough for the generous math supplies you funded for our classroom. The students and I have been very busy using the Math manipulatives to enhance our everyday learning. They have enjoyed having hands on materials to show place value to their classmates.

It means a lot to have others share in my passion for teaching young children Math. Through generous donors like you, strangers to my students, they are able to see that others care about their education and that learning Math should be fun and valued.

Thank you so much again, from all of us in First Grade!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lugo

  • Enhancing Our First Grade Learning

    Funded Oct 20, 2014

Words cannot express how thankful my students and I are for your caring and thoughtfulness. My students are amazed that strangers care about them and their learning. They see that there are amazing people in this world who value education and the arts.

We have already gotten to work making many wonderful projects with the fun supplies we received. We have made many items to enhance our learning.

Thank you so much for all you have done for my class and myself. It is such a blessing and we are forever grateful.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lugo

  • Designing the Perfect Project

    Funded Jul 6, 2012

I just wanted to thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom. It means the world to my students and I that there are people that care about education as much as I do.

My class will be able to do many fun activities with these die cuts, such as learn about different holidays and share their designs with other students. My class could use the extra materials to help them reinforce what was taught in the room.

Thank you for caring about students, such as mine. It means the world to me. Happy Holidays!

Thank you so much for your generous donations to my classroom. It really means a lot to know that there are people that value education as much as myself.

My students this year are going to be so excited to see all of the wonderful art supplies that they will be able to utilize within our classroom. They will be able to show others their projects and showcase what they have learned in a creative way.

Thank you again for helping us achieve this goal and get supplies we so desperately needed and wanted. There will be 23 smiling children and one smiling teacher in our room this year, all thanks to you all.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lugo
