By donating to my project, you will have touched over 100 students’ lives for each school year to come. In my sixth-grade math class, I have a variety of learners who each access education differently. With this project, I am wanting to add some different tools to allow students to work in a manner that is best for each individual student. Many of my students love to move around while learning. I often find myself placing task cards around the room for students to complete as an alternative to worksheets. A problem I have found with this is that my students need flat surfaces to write their responses on. Many students use text books as writing surfaces but I’ve witnessed their struggles of keeping their papers on the book while also writing their response. Clip boards would be a logical solution to this problem but I’m a firm believer in items having more than one purpose. These clip boards are designed to be not only the traditional clip board but also a dry erase board. Much of math involves trial and error. It can be very frustrating to be erasing large areas of pencil on papers. Allowing students to use dry erase boards and markers allow students a fun way to practice new skills without the permanence of writing their thinking on paper. With dry erase boards comes the need for markers, erasers, and storage. By donating to my project you will be touching the lives of hundreds of students to come by making math more accessible and fun.
