  • Snap Circuits!

    Funded May 9, 2023

Thank you so much for this incredibly generous donation, these Snap Circuits were such an amazing addition to my classroom. My students were most excited to see how they could adjust the wiring and connections to make the circuits change what was happening.

These circuits were really beneficial to use with students when we were learning about electricity and open/closed circuits. Students even enjoy using these circuits for free time and when they are able to without it being required or part of an assignment. These circuits will be a pivotal part of my classroom thanks to your donations!”

  • Katherine Applegate Novel Study

    Funded May 5, 2023

Thank you so much for helping to support my students love of an author through novel studies. My students were excited to begin reading the books as soon as they arrived, even with it nearing the end of the school year. They were ecstatic when they arrived.

These books have helped to keep the students engaged and entertained. The students have enjoyed reading their own novels and sharing what they have read and are learning with students that are reading another novel.

With these books, I have helped to solidify the grade level skills that my students have learned as they prepare to move on to their next grade. I am so excited to continue to use them with future classes!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Reichert

  • Classroom Economy

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Thank you so much for donating to our project! My students have used the new resources to support their understanding of economics and money management. My students worked to earn money through our classroom economy to use to fund materials from our classroom economy.

When they first saw the materials that were donated, my students were so thrilled. My students were so happy to see that their requests for our classroom economy were fulfilled! It was so amazing to see my class light up and become so motivated to earn funds for the classroom store.

Our next steps as a class are to learn how to manage our money to support the purchasing of more high demand items. This will allow students to learn the skills required to manage their money to support purchasing their wants. Students will learn to differentiate between wants and needs and understand that they don't have to spend all their money at once.

Thank you again for supporting our classroom economy, helping students learn money management, and providing students with something to work towards! Their excitement of this funded project was contagious!”

  • Experiment. Fail. Learn. Repeat.

    Funded Aug 10, 2022

Thank you so much for contributing to our classroom supply of STEAM materials. My students love using these supplies to experiment and learn about how things work, especially during our most recent energy unit. The pictures attached are pictures of my students using the supplies to create balloons after learning about the science behind the balloons at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. We love to use hands on learning and find ways to build items and improve what we have built. This is a great way to incorporate our science standards and problem solving skills. Thank you!”

  • For the Love of Reading

    Funded Aug 9, 2022

My class and I thank you for your generous donations that helped provide class novel sets. We just finished reading The One and Only Ivan and they enjoyed it so much. I have never finished a novel study with a class as fast as we finished reading The One and Only Ivan. My students loved diving into the reasoning behind what was said in the novel, finding the many examples of figurative language, and doing a character analysis of the novel characters. Encouraging a love for reading with students is so essential to foster a life long love of learning, so thank you again!”

  • Fractions Are Fun!

    Funded Jan 3, 2022

Fractions are one of the largest 5th grade standards and one of the harder ones for them to understand. My students were not quite understanding that fractions are everywhere and we use them in everyday life.

These games and other fun materials allowed me to make learning about fractions fun and exciting for my students. I was able to use them across all levels of understanding as I was able to differentiate the materials.

The materials gifted were a huge help in preparing my students for their state testing and they felt so comfortable with their fraction knowledge when they had to test. They loved these games so much, that they even ask to play them even though we've moved on from our fractions unit.

Thank you for helping my students see the "why" behind math and answering the age old question of "when will I ever use this in real life."”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Reichert

  • Classroom Social Emotional Wellbeing

    Funded Jan 2, 2022

My classroom was created by taking students from other classrooms that were too large and creating a new room. The importance of these materials was far greater than anyone would truly understand. The materials allowed my students to make the classroom into our classroom.

The students were so excited to see the new chair for them to sit in and work at. The small coffee table gave them a small group space to work at and the clipboards allowed them to move around the room to work.

The books gave me reading material to use with them for teaching social and emotional learning and it really helped me teach them how to understand their emotions more.

Thank you so much for all of the wonderful donations that my students use on a day to day basis!”

  • Books for Acceptance

    Funded Dec 31, 2021

This project has been an amazing addition to my class novel studies. The students are really engaged and enjoying reading the book. The novel follows a young student, who is at the same grade level as my students, who is experiencing academic difficulties and problems creating/maintaining friendships.

This novel shows students healthy ways to handle conflict in friendships. The students are shown ways that the main character, Ally, has to make decisions to maintain her friendships. This is a great way for the students to find ways to nourish their friendships, especially when they are harder to come by.

Finally, this novel has shown my students that they truly do not understand what someone is going through. The main character in the novel struggles with her academic misunderstandings and does not know how to handle them, so in turn she shuts down or acts out. This has been a great way to broach the topic with my class and teach empathy to them.

Thank you again for the amazing donations! My students are thriving.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Reichert

  • Bring Science to Life!

    Funded Oct 13, 2021

My students have used the resources from this project for their STEM Friday activities. Every Friday during the last hour or so of the day, we do an activity that is related to our current standards. We recently wrapped up a unit on Earth and the Sun, this led us to a stem project about rollercoasters and gravity. The students used the resources provided to create roller coasters and related it to gravity and how it is directed downward.

My favorite moment related to this project is, when my students saw the STEM kits to create cars and other battery powered items. The class worked in groups to create various types of vehicles that would run when put together correctly. The students were so excited to see their cars move and know that, they put them together. I can't wait to build another project with them!

Our next steps with this project, are to learn about mixtures and solutions. The students will use resources provided from this project to learn about the process of mixing two or more solutions will result in a new substance.”

    Mrs. Reichert
