We All Learn Here Pt3
Funded Mar 2, 2022Thank you so much for supporting my classroom. With your donation, last school year, we received many new books and sensory materials that were needed for the classroom. This school year, a new group of children are enjoying these books just as much during independent reading time and throughout the school day.
Ravi's Roar is a classroom favorite that I use to teach the children about noticing anger. They love the illustrations and message of the story. Again, thank you for helping me cultivate my students love for reading.”
With gratitude,

Funded Apr 4, 2019Thank you for supporting Room 206's project. This school year we created a sensory break area that supported the growth of our students social emotional needs. Many of the children have learned how to identify their feelings by using the visual emotion board and some even independently choose an item to help them self-regulate using the visual cards (ex. I want weighted blanket).
Next year we will expand our sensory area by moving it to the reading area. This way the children have a larger space where they can take a break. The sound absorbing wall will help us space this area out!”

Funded Dec 16, 2018Room 206 came back from Winter Break to a beautiful updated classroom because of your support. Each child now has a Cube Chair to sit in during Meeting Time. The neutral color carpet provides a soothing plush feel for our kids sensory needs during group times.
Our Magna-Tab letters and number tracers have helped many of our student's become more comfortable with holding writing utensils. The magnets also provide a nice calming sensory input for their little fingers! They have been a hit during Table Time and have provided plenty of impromptu lessons on sharing and waiting patiently :)
During February we explored letters and numbers by using the books Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and Chicka Chicka 123. Our classroom CCBB tree made this study much more engaging for our kids and served as inspiration when they created their own personal CCBB trees.
I am looking forward to working with parents in creating personal visual schedules and PECS binders (Picture Exchange Communication System) for at home use. Your donations funded the large amounts of Velcro we need for these Make and Take visual workshops. Families were thrilled and eager to sign up for these upcoming workshops. At the workshops they'll make visual schedules, Communication boards, First/Then boards, etc. like the ones we use in the classroom, to make and use at home. These supports will allow our kids to strengthen their expressive language and self-regulation abilities!
These are just a few ways your donations have impacted student AND parent learning in my classroom. THANK YOU!!”

Mrs. Rodriguez
