These materials will help my students thrive and flourish within our classroom by giving them what they need to master their individual goals. My students learn vital skills through play everyday. Each item will assist us in working toward speech goals by allowing me to communicate with my students during play, using noises they may begin to imitate such as animal noises as well as teaching them sign language during play. Musical instruments and scarves will teach them to express themselves as well as participate in a group. Textured blocks, braille blocks, textured toys and large, musical puzzles will be amazing additions for our visually impaired students. Appropriate toys such as puzzles and blocks will help them work on their fine motor skills as well as learn to play with toys appropriately. The small community helpers, butterfly life cycle puppet and sensory water beads will be perfect for covering parts of our social studies and science curriculum. The large pillows will be great, comfy additions to our reading area, while the bean bag will help us create a large calming space for my students to go when behaviors escalate. With these materials, my students will never know how hard they are working to reach their goals because of all the fun they will be having with the materials.
