As a part of the early childhood education class, students learn about quality childcare settings, the learning environment, curriculum development, and management and administration of early childhood education centers. Having professional attire during the clinical experiences will make students feel more connected to the quality and professional aspects of this career pathway. Preparing students for a successful career in the early childhood field begins with a sense of pride and belonging which can be enhanced with professional attire. Our district serves sixty-five percent of families who receive free or reduced lunch which is determined by the household income. Many families struggle to pay school fees and dues and simply cannot afford extra expenses. Professional attire is also important to the field we serve. Having early childhood students recognizable in the center is a safety concern. With a national push for early childhood to become recognized as an outstanding profession, allowing these students the opportunity to look like a professional will connect them to a world of possibilities.
