Stools and Stands
Funded Oct 12, 2023Thank you so much for funding this project. Although this project wasn't very good looking or able to produce a lot of smiles on the kids' faces with shiny new equipment, it is a very necessary part of our everyday life in rehearsals.
You will see smiles on the students in the bass section who now have proper stools to sit on while they play. Also, If you look around my room after rehearsal, you will see that every stand now has a place to be put away and that helps with the environment of the whole class.
Students want to have an organized and safe place to rehearse and learn. This will help with that, now that my bass section has a place to sit and they students know where to put stands to clean up after rehearsal.”

Funded Jan 21, 2022Thank you so much for funding this project. Although I neglected to take a picture of the clarinet reeds and vibraslap instrument. The reeds have been supplying my clarinet section in the band. At the time I submitted this project, it was the largest section of the band with the highest maintenance costs in reeds. I had enough reeds to supply the section for the rest of the year and still have plenty to get a good start for the next school year.
The vibraslap was a great addition to our percussion ensemble. One of our pieces called for a vibraslap. Our current one was broken, so this one arrived just in time for our
region competition.
We did get a picture with the cymbal stands, they were so excited that they setup every stand they could find around our drumset.
The woodblock and bell tree will be a great addition to our pit orchestra in the fall. We are doing, "Into the Woods" and both of these instruments will be needed. In the past we have had to rent or do with out or make due with a digital trigger. This will sound MUCH better. Thank you again for your generosity.”

Funded Dec 16, 2020This digital mallet station has been great to help us move into the digital age. During the pandemic we were forced to teach remotely and digitally, this controller came in handy because students can plug it directly into a computer to use.
When students submit recordings, it is also nice because they can plug the controller into a laptop and record that way.
Max, was so excited to use this station, he was able to plug it into his laptop and experiment with many other virtual instruments. He was able to make it sound like a marimba, a vibraphone, xylophone and bells. He also had fun experimenting with several other digital instruments.
We can also use the instrument in a live setting. One of the pictures I submitted was us using the malletstation in a live rehearsal.”

Funded Dec 1, 2020Thank you so much for funding this project. Often violas are too big for smaller students to be successful on. This viola is a smaller, 14" version. Standard violas are 15, 15.5, 16 and 16.5. One inch can make a difference in now a student can play well.
I am using this viola to help transition smaller students and violin players to viola.
So far, I have used it with three students. One was a very good violin player, so I let her use this instrument. She eventually transitioned to a full instrument and became an all state player. The second and third students were smaller and beginner kids. One student was able to transition to a full size instrument after a few months and she grew a couple of inches in 7th grade. The other stayed on the smaller instrument all year.
This has been a wonderful resource I think I need a couple more smaller violas for future students.”
