Readers are Leaders
Funded Jul 24, 2015My students and I greatly appreciate you generosity. We can't thank you enough for your selflessness as it has impacted our classroom lives greatly. We are always looking for ways to stay engaged and knowledgeable about current events. These magazines give us those opportunities.
The students use the magazines and resources everyday during independent reading time. They are able to watch videos and play educational games with the online access to Scholastic that comes along with the subscription. In addition, there are a variety of reading levels so that all students, regardless of ability, are able to benefit.
Once again, we offer our deepest gratitude for your generous donations.”

Book Nook Boogie
Funded May 6, 2014We can't thank you enough for your generous donations. The students were so excited to receive our new magazine subscription for reading time. They finally feel like they can read about current events and stories they can relate to.
The students began using the subscriptions right away during independent reading time. They love the vivid pictures and the stories that they can relate to. In addition, they are able to have online access which allows them to watch videos, complete activities and play learning games that support these magazines.
Finally, those students who are reading at a lower level as well as English Language Learners have benefited from the ability to change the reading level of each article. they do not have to feel like they can't read about the same topics anymore nor do they have to feel singled out. They can read the same articles as their peers but on their level.
We can't even begin to express our gratitude for your generous support of our reading center. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”

Move Your Feet, Lose Your Seat...
Funded May 6, 2014We can't thank you enough for your generous donations. The students were so excited to receive our new furniture for reading time. They finally feel like they can have a place of their own to do different tasks.
The students began using the bean bags and pillow right away during independent reading time. They can find a comfortable place in the classroom and really fall into their books that they are reading. It also helps them to distinguish between independent reading time and group time as they move from the pillows and bean bags to our brand new group conference table.
Finally, it also helps me to be able to meet with groups of students and have equal conversation and contact as they sit around me and share. Our conference table also promotes their conversational skills by allowing them to address each other and be facing one another.
We can't even begin to express our gratitude for your generous support of our reading center. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”

May The Odds Be Ever In Our Favor
Funded Apr 16, 2014There are not enough words of gratitude to express how you have impacted our classroom. We are trying to build the technology within our classroom, especially since this is the first year many students have used things like IPads, laptops and SmartBoards in the classroom. The world is ever advancing and I strive as their teacher to prepare them for the future. Technology rules everything. It can be increasingly difficult with limited resources to give them equal and ample time to explore and utilize the technology we have. Thanks to you, we now can explore and use this technology more often and more independently.
Many of the students math and ELA work have computer components that can be utilized by the students independently. With the addition of our 2 new IPads, the students can get the full benefit of those programs more frequently and independently.
The students were very excited to receive our new donations. They immediately opened them and were able to help me program and customize the IPads to meet our classes needs. We have already created a new class schedule so that they may utilize them everyday during all classes to enhance their learning and keep them engaged.
We send our sincerest thanks and gratitude for your generous donations.”
