Somewhere Over the Rainbow...
Funded Jun 12, 2020This new printer is life changing. The current climate in schools is so uncertain and I hope to be able to take this printer to school once we are fully open. We started the school year open and have since closed again. We are hoping to open again in the next few weeks. While in school, I am able to print color copies, scan and copy in order to give resources and references to the students.
Being able to print student work is another plus. Now that the students are doing most work on the computer, it can be difficult to keep paper trails of their accomplishments. Once we are in school, we will need bulletin boards and portfolios of student work. I will need to go back into their drives and print out all of the work they have been submitting digitally during this time.
Finally, once we return to school, there are many projects that students will be working on where a color printer is needed and appreciated. We create nonfiction books and maps. Having a color printer will allow students greater creativity especially when using the internet. Thank you so much for your generous donations.”

Funded Oct 14, 2019We can't thank you enough for your generous donations. These students have limited access to technology and there are so many things we can do together. We are bridging the achievement gap using online programs such as iReady that are specifically tailored to each student's ability level. We need technology to be able to give every student the opportunity to succeed.
We are also looking to raise levels of engagement and reading. We can borrow books from our local library digitally so that our choices increases which raises engagement and volume.
The students were very excited to receive our materials and ask for more opportunities to use technology. We are grateful for this opportunity you have given us. We are greatly appreciative and hope to pay the generosity forward.”

May the odds be ever in our favor!
Funded Mar 27, 2018There are no words to express how grateful we are to receive this funding. Technology is so important and helps students grow and achieve greatness in all areas. Keeping them engaged and interested in learning can be a challenge and these IPads offer so much for our students. Options like different videos to learning games can be just the thing to hook a kid and motivate them to work harder. You have been an integral part in making that happen in our classroom. thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity.”

STEM Class Needs Your Help
Funded Oct 26, 2016This new technology will be a great help to my students. Many do not know that technology is more than computers and smart phones. Technology is "the application of scientific knowledge for practical purposes." In our STEM class we complete projects that require kids to critically think about real world problems and then solve them. We require them to plan, design and revise solutions to challenges.
These supplies will help our students solve a challenge of building a structure that will withstand basic forces of nature. They will need to plan and design a structure using the materials you have so generously provided. We continue to thank you for your generous donations.”

Funded Mar 9, 2016We have received our new Ozobots and have already started working with them. The students were immediately engaged and excited to be working with them. Students learned to calibrate and take care of them. They also already started learning the coding strategies that make them work. Some students even started to figure out how to code them on their own. I can't even describe the excitement they exhibited.
We plan to use these robots as an extension to our current math curriculum. As teachers, we are constantly searching for new ways to engage children to help them learn to their fullest potential. I truly believe these robots will be a major key in their success in our current curriculum and will foster future creativity and even set some kids on a path to discover their true passion.
As of now, we are in the beginning phases of our project, but I can already see the success that will come. We can't thank you enough for your generous donation to help our kids learn and succeed not just now but for years to come. Thank you for your dedication to education and our kids.”

Funded Dec 28, 2015We can't thank you enough for your generous donations. The students were so excited to receive our new magazine subscription for reading time. They finally feel like they can read about current events and stories they can relate to.
The students began using the subscriptions right away during independent reading time. They love the vivid pictures and the stories that they can relate to. In addition, they are able to have Ondine access which allows them to watch videos, complete activities and play learning games that support these magazines.
Finally, those students who are reading at a lower level as well as English Language Learners have benefited from the ability to change the reading level of each article. they do not have to feel like they can't read about the same topics anymore nor do they have to feel singled out. They can read the same articles as their peers but on their level.
We can't even begin to express our gratitude for your generous support of our reading center. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
