Here students are reading and working in our library area! We are a senior English class that traces the path of the Hero's Journey over the course of the year. We begin with Joseph Campbell's masterwork on this topic- The Hero With A Thousand Faces. We then read Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 and see how the main character (Montag) wakes-up spiritually and intellectually while living in a totalitarian regime. We also read Viktor Frankl's classic of survival literature Man's Search for Meaning. This is a study of how to find meaning in one's own life, which then enables one to help others. Our students come from all neighborhoods and ethnicities in the city of Boston and are working hard to have the brightest future possible.
