  • Breakout(Edu) of Remote Learning

    Thank you so much for donating to our class. The BreakoutEDU kit and platform access was invaluable to our class during remote learning. BreakoutEDU allowed our class to participate in games that encouraged critical thinking and fostered collaboration to help our class build community while working remotely. During remote learning, my students used BreakoutEdu games to review class content and to connect with classmates as they worked to solve clues in many of the games provided on the platform.

    As we transition into the classroom, we will use the BreakoutEDU kit more often to engage in games that will help support our Social and Emotional Learning. We appreciate you!”

Pear Deck is a Google add-on that transformed my Google Slides presentations from boring presentations into fun, interactive lessons that my students actually enjoyed doing. With Pear Deck, I was able to create lessons with embedded interactive questions and activities to make synchronous lessons enjoyable and worthwhile. This tool allowed me to see my students learning in real-time and helped me be a more responsive teacher by providing immediate feedback to struggling students.   • Build Capacity to Guarantee CS for All

    This past July I had the opportunity to participate in the Exploring Computer Science course held in New York City to prepare myself to teach computer science principles at my school. After taking this course, I feel very that I am prepared to teach student computer science principles to help Open up opportunities in the field.

    One highlight of the course for me was the realization that I did not need a background in computer science to teach about it. The lessons provided by ECS were very engaging and could be integrated into any content area. I was also happy to learn that the course extended past the one week PD and I would be able to access the resources anytime and be able to participate in follow up sessions to further my practice.”
