Students will use the Apple iPad mini 2 tablets with protective cases for communication and learning. Nonverbal students or those with limited language can use the iPads to improve communication through the use of apps. All students will have access to the iPads for interactive learning experiences for early literacy and math skills. An important part of early learning experiences is self-awareness and understanding needs; for students with disabilities, this often includes self-regulation. Incorporating sensory tools is one way to support the development of self-regulation, making them more able to focus on learning and play. I'm requesting a Teeter Popper, a Yopo sensory sock, Wiggle Seats, and a variety of fidget toys. Having a variety of sensory tools and flexible seating available in the classroom will allow students and teachers to test out different tools and find what works.
