Colorful Stools for Active Engagement!
Funded Aug 15, 2024Thank you so much for the amazing strong stools. The students were so excited to see the rainbow of colors is the front of the room. We use the stools to form small groups to collaborate. They also use them to have flexible seating. They can now move to a quieter space where they can focus and learn.
The students eagerly use the stools to form groups to read to someone. They are getting bigger, so they don't like to sit on the floor. Each child gets a chance to use the stools daily, which allows for movement within the classroom.
You have helped the students with ADHD because they can now move and choose a place to sit that they like. It is wonderful to see how much their work and study habits have improved with the use of the new colorful stools.”

Funded Aug 2, 2023Thank you so much for getting us the needed supplies to do math and reading work.
The students love their clipboard/whiteboards to work on math problems, make plans, practice reading skills, and drawing.
When students complete their assigned classwork, they use their new clipboard/whiteboard to practice math with a friend. It is fun to see the students engaged and learning with each other in a productive way.
They even use them to hold papers that they haven't completed. It helps keep them organized and eliminates clutter. We also aren't using much paper, which is helpful for our environment.”

Funded Mar 27, 2023Thank you all so much for the essential math games and manipulatives. The students used them all to help them study for the end of the year math assessments.
The students were so excited to use the whiteboards and markers, instead of paper and pencils. They were able to choose 2-3 colors of dry erase markers to solve their math problems. Small groups worked on elapsed time, fractions, multiplication, addition, division, and subtraction. All of the students were engaged using these new tools, and math just came to life.
These hands-on materials are so important for kids of all ages. It is nice to see them explaining how to use the new tools, if someone was confused or needed help. They became teachers and leaders while learning new skills. I think that was a win-win! Thanks for all you do to help students in the classroom.”

Read in Style
Funded Nov 27, 2022The "Read in Style" grant was a wonderful way to get students reading. Our new library area is a big hit. The students are so excited to be able to sit in the new form-fitting chairs and use the soft clean cushions. They have been using the new carpet to learn the states in the USA. The library is a relaxing area to take a break.
With your support, our class has become a better place to learn. Reading is the key to learning, especially in 3rd grade. It makes my heart smile, when I see that the community has come together to help students continue their journey to learn new things. Thank you for your donations and your continued support to help students become successful!”

Help Needed: Immediate Openings For Authors and Illustrators!
Funded Oct 26, 2022Your kind thoughts and donations will inspire my students to get creative with their reading and writing. They are excited to use the new items to bring their characters to life as they write about events that they experience or imagine.
They are already brainstorming ideas to make their new books. I think it is important for them to have access to all of the tools and supplies they need to express themselves. Your donations will allow them to write, illustrate, and share their writing with classmates and little buddies.”

Funded Sep 9, 2022Thank you so much for taking the time to give to "Quiet Classrooms use Headphones to Personalize their Learning." My students are now able to use online reading and math programs to improve their learning by not disturbing others with tech noise.
The headphones are so comfortable. The students even wear them to block out classroom noise when they are working, so they can focus better. The students are happy to have headphones that are new and not broken.
Many students, especially my special needs children, are now able to enjoy learning by using their headphones to listen to stories. Before getting the new headphones, the students would only wear the heavily used headphones for about 5 minutes because they hurt their ears or they stopped working. Now all of the students can complete their assignments by using the new high quality headphones!”

Funded Mar 20, 2020Thank you all so much for funding our project for 3-D pens and mini-robots. These items will get the students learning in hands-on ways to help them now and in the future. We plan to use the new materials to recreate and retell stories in small groups, and help our learning come to life across the curriculum.
The students have been so excited to see how these 3-D pens work and are eager to use them throughout the year. They are researching animals and other areas of interest to learn more about the items they want to create. They are also working in small teams to come up with a plan to incorporate these new materials.
I believe learning should be a fun, interactive, and memorable experience. These 3-D pens and mini robots will give the students the hands-on learning opportunities needed to bring the lessons to life! Thank you again for being part of our team!”

Our Ears Need to Be Covered - Checkmate!
Funded Oct 24, 2018Thank you so much for your support to improve our classroom. The students are enjoying the new headphones and earbuds, IPAD, and chess games. The students are eager to use the headphones/earbuds for reading programs on the IPAD. The headphones/earbuds allow them to listen to stories to improve their reading skills. Our class recently won a school-wide reading contest and I think the new items increased their motivation to do well.
The chess sets are helping them think critically to solve problems. Each set has the moves printed on the pieces to help the students learn and remember how each piece moves. It is definitely a challenging experience for all. They are very excited to play and interact with classmates each week during the "chess challenge." I often hear, "We are so lucky!"
All of the students are so thrilled to have the new items just for them. They are learning to care for the new materials and help each other experience a different way of thinking. Thank you so much for the new tools to help my students become successful readers and problem solvers.”

Funded Feb 18, 2018Cool and calm...with our new air conditioner the class is moving along smoothly. The students are able to concentrate and focus on their work. When the temperatures stay at a comfortable level, the students are happy and eager to learn new things.
The students were so excited when they saw the new air conditioner. They began cheering and "high-5ing" each other. It was like an amazing gift for everyone in the class. It was fun to see how happy everyone was.
The students are extremely grateful to the people who donated to our class. They are amazed how the air conditioner cools the room, so quickly. Now, we look forward to HOT days because our class is a place to get relief from the heat outside.”

Sit Back, Relax & Read
Funded Nov 1, 2017You are amazing! Thank you so much for donating to our class and supporting this grant. My students are enjoying the cozy seats, reading materials, tablets, and fan. Learning is easier when the students are comfortable and have choices.
The students are eager to use the tablets, and new reading cards in our library area. They are excited to use the special interactive pens that help them with reading comprehension. They read an article, then they answer questions by selecting the correct answer with the pens. When they are correct the pens light up and give them immediate feedback on how they have done. They really like these new items that foster reading in the cozy library area.
The students also use the new comfy seats to read books, read using the new tablets, and read using the "Hot Dot" cards and pens. These items have engaged all of the students and made reading a fun activity.
Our library is a new area that the students are excited to use. Reading is the key to success and these new items have improved our classroom. The new seating and fan allow students to be comfortable and engaged in reading. The movable seats allow groups of students to sit together and share their reading experience.”
