Brewing Connections: A Classroom Coffee Cart
Funded Jan 14, 2024We have had the most fun operating our coffee cart. My students have learned so many new skills. Reading order forms, preparing orders, counting orders and making drinks. But the most fun is getting to walk around the building and practice our social language skills when we deliver the coffee. The engagement from staff and students when my students enter the room makes my heart happy. They are so excited to get their delivery and high five my students. My students are smiling from ear to ear as they shout "ENJOY your coffee". Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting my dream of running a coffee cart.”

Endless Communication Sessions
Funded Nov 28, 2023My students have been so excited for our sessions. Seeing all the new open ended games was like Christmas morning. They come in to our sessions ready to work and engage. Their favorite is the Gobble Monster game even thought it scares them. They love the fast pace of the game and get excited when they take their turn and the monster doesn't eat all the toys on their turn. I have never seen such excitement with the kids the way these games have them participating in their sessions is amazing. I can't thank you enough for supporting my kids.”

Funded Nov 18, 2023My students were so excited to see all the new toys and games in my room. Bluey's house was a huge hit. I have never seen so many kids get excited about playing with a house. "Wow Ms. Bennett, where did this come from?". It was wonderful to tell them that some amazing people helped purchase these new toys for them to play with. They even play together and pretend they are Bluey and Bingo. I have a lot of littles who love my wood food that they can pretend to bake and make and have me sample. Pretend play is the perfect time for the kids to practice expanding their sentence length and not really know they are still working. The spinning top was a fan favorite for my little 4 year old friend who loves anything that spins. He laughed and laughed watching the wheels spin going on and off the toy. Thank you for bringing new toys to my room for my students to continue "working" when they get to do something they love.”

Hanging on for Communication
Funded Sep 27, 2021Thanks to generous donors, the students and staff at my school have been utilizing all the new resources they've received to support their communication skills 'on the go.' The breakaway lanyards, rings, and cardstock arrived quickly and were immediately put to good use! It's amazing to see my students have access to the items they need to communicate with others successfully and functionally across many different settings (e.g., playground, cafeteria, transitioning).
My students are so excited to be able to communicate effectively and efficiently with others, whether it's by their lockers as they unpack in the morning or while they play on the playground with their peers. It's also comforting to know that my students are accessing these materials in a safe manner, as the lanyards quickly breakaway if pulled on or if they become caught on furniture.
Not only are the students excited about the new, mini-communication boards printed on sturdy cardstock they can wear around their necks, but this addition of materials allows my school staff to become more involved with modeling language. Staff members are beginning to wear the lanyards around their necks to model functional core vocabulary words 'on the go' with students. I can't wait to see how my students and staff grow and progress with access to these materials! Thank you, donors, for your generosity.”

Funded Sep 6, 2019Thank you so much for your generosity. My students light up every time they come into my room for speech therapy and they see the rug! They noticed it right away and couldn't wait to sit and play on it!
The rug gives us so much to talk about with it's beautiful blue colors and images of fish. It's also very comfortable to sit and play on during our structured play time and free time. The donated rug adds an element of fun and color to my windowless room.
My students take pride in keeping the room neat now that the colorful carpet is here! Thank you again for your kindness in donating to my project. My students and I look forward to enjoying this rug for years to come!”

Funded May 6, 2019Thank you very much for the amazing ability to purchase books and supplies needed to support my students' communication skills. The stories are fun and motivating and give me and my students so much to talk about! The brightly colored pictures and repetitive phrases are easy for my students to attend to.
We love to read together in small groups of 2 or 3 students. With the donated supplies, we can expand learning by highlighting specific vocabulary words and encourage development of language and literacy in an exciting way.
I'll be forever grateful for your generosity to support my students and their learning. You have helped to create an inviting and language-rich learning environment for my students.”
